TheUnthoughtKnown Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I'm obsessed with Eddie Vedder's new album, Ukulele Songs, recently. Anyways there's one song that really struck a chord with me and I was wondering if anyone else really gets this. Not surprisingly, the songs called Broken Heart. The lyrics Don't mind me, just let me be My eyes so far away I don't need no sympathy The word gets overplayed I'm alright, it's just tonight I can't play the part I'm alright, it's alright It's just a broken heart Don't have eyes for the world outside They're closed and turned within Trying to find a light inside It's there and growing dim I'm alright, it's just tonight I can't play the part I'm alright, it's alright It's just one broken heart... ___________________________________________________ It's a short song, but a very affecting one. I always felt, when I was going through the worst of it, that songs of this nature pulled you through it because they stopped that horrible lonely feeling. There's a connection you get when someone pours their heart out to you and it's there in this song, in his voice. If I was still in that dark place, I'd have found a little light with this. Hope you enjoy.
Frank13 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 There's a connection you get when someone pours their heart out to you I disagree. When someone loves you but you don't feel the same, their love doesn't mean anything. If it did, we wouldn't have so many people here posting. The weird thing is, the more a person is rejected, the greater the urge to express their love to the person rejecting them. This usually just pushes the rejecting person further away. It doesn't make sense but that is the way it is.
