Personally I believe the OP is insecure, therefore, she seeks to be equal in all ways and forms with her male counter-part. Thing about that is, she will never be equal to him. She is a woman, and he is a man. Nature intended for the sexes to be different, and that they will be. Keep dating small men. It won't change the fact that you're insecure about being a woman, and that you have a huge chip on your shoulder. You want to one up men so bad you seeps out of your pores. Not surprised, alot of women on this board are like that. Maybe you all should go live on an island somewhere like a bunch of long lost amazonian women. Possibly you'll all be happy then. :/ Ah jokes. But I was being serious about the first half of the post.

Are you sure you were being serious at all?

Because really, she's just talking about the body types she's attracted to. You have a body type you're attracted to, right?

I could read into your post by saying that because you're a bigger guy, you felt slighted by the OP, and had to come up with some crazy explanation that cuts her down in order to protect your ego. But I won't read into your post, because we're just talking about preferred body types.

you're comparing apples to pears in your second sentence, lol. they're different. not really looking to debate one vs the other.

the reason for bringing up the boxers is there's not a lot of height variation in the lower weight classes. there's not much advantage to being lanky and thinner as a boxer. there's gotta be weight behind the hands, since you're limited to hands.

I compared two professional fighters, one who is skinny and tall (martial arts fighter), and one who is bulky and short (boxer). The skinny guy will win, no doubt about it. Fighter vs fighter is fair game. Boxer vs random tall and skinny guy on the street is not! lol

And I agree with your second paragraph!

yeah that's the point i was trying to make. couple of guys around here seem to have napoleon complexes at 5'8". but clearly those latin guys from 5'5" to 5'9" who fight for a living don't ;).

and i think we would also agree that oscar de la hoya's wife is smokin' hot, so he's not struggling with that either...

Your opinion meets trash can.

Yeah, she's pretty, and they're about the same height. Although, I bet she feels safe around him. haha:laugh:

The majority of women seem to prefer a taller man, but they appear to be more flexible on size/weight - some like slim guys and some like huge guys. Personally I like a big man - my bf is 6ft and weighs 210, and he's just my type (though I'd prefer if he was a couple inches taller!). Different women prefer different things though; whatever you look like, someone will find you attractive.

just wondering if that's b/c heels add an additional 2-3 inches and girls generally (key word generally) like guys taller than them in heels.

I find a man attractive when he's taller than me; a shorter man is a turn-off. I prefer a guy to be taller in flat shoes and at least the same height (ideally slightly taller) when I wear heels. This means that a 3-4 inch height difference is the absolute minimum, and it's preferable if he's 5-6 inches (or more) taller.

the thought that comes to mind is welterweight boxers.

oscar de la hoya (5'9 or so), miguel cotto (5'7), etc.

those guys could beat any average 6 foot tall man to death with their bare hands....

True, but any boxer no matter what weight class could beat an average man to death.

You could take a bantamweight like Nonito Donaire and I guarantee he would easily kill an average 6' foot tall guy in a fight.

wow that's really thin. you're about the size of my thigh [5'8", 170ish]

I'm not *that* skinny :p Ok I am ;) but I don't really look it.

You are comparing apples and pears. Compare a welterweight boxer with one of the best karate or taekwondo fighters in the world and I highly doubt the boxer stands much of a chance. Now that is fair game, yet the martial arts fighter may be 6"0 and weigh 150 pounds. Just sayin'!

Just to touch on the quote; I've enjoyed the martial arts for several decades & one of the most intimidating, butt kicking black belts I use to spare with was no taller than 5' 4" to 5' 5", 110 to 115 pounds, petite & pretty & there was NO man who had to protect her & I have to admit, I found that a bit hot, lol.

My wife is about an inch or so shorter than I am bear footed so depending on footwear she may be an inch or two taller & I'm fairly trim but outweigh her by about 50 pounds & it's all good.

I found it interesting this thread reminds me of another one which discussed men preferences with breast sizes & shapes.

Everyone always says they've called me out. Lmao, I've got to actually give a **** for that to happen. I don't.

Must be difficult for her to find shoes with BEAR feet !

I actually love really super thin men (never like muscular men much), and height doesn't matter to me at all. My husband works out all the time, but it doesn't impress me (poor guy!). I would prefer him not too because I don't like the muscular look.

Posted

I agree with whoever said there's no such thing as too skinny. Now I just gotta live that myself and get back down to my 113lb self.

Posted

I just like small people in general. I gained a lot of weight due to medication and thyroid issues and I'm busting my butt to get back down to as tiny as freakishly possible. I would love for a 140lb guy to be bigger than me. I hate big people. Fat, muscular, any of it, I don't like it. I like stick thin girls and stick thin guys. I think girls who have really flat chests and butts are attractive as well. I hate having any meat on me. I guess it's 'cause I'm attracted to hipsters, both male and female. I borderline on liking dang near anorexic looking people. The size that would be ideal for me myself would be like Miranda Cosgrove's size. I just don't like being or feeling big in any way shape or form.

I'm obsessed, I know, but I haven't made myself anorexic over it yet. It's horrible that I wish I could, but I honestly don't think I'll ever be able to.

Perhaps your husband works out for reasons other than impressing you...

I could be wrong though.

Didn't read the thread but if a woman ends up having a bigger penis than mine, I'm outta there.

GEEZ Hon, Mentally you already are anorexic ! I was, in my late teens, and that hatred of "flesh" was a little indicitive of deeper issues. I guess if you can lose the weight and stay healthy physically and mentally go for it, but keep your head checked and in my opinion, there's not many people LESS cool than so proclaimed hipsters ! ( Lets all hoist a PBR, lol )

Mine's 10", portable, and vibrates. :)

Back to the subject at hand... I love bite size men. I also like the thin/athletic guys- not really the overly muscular ones, but just slightly meatier than Lance Armstrong's build. I don't really like the two combined though. If it's a short guy, I want him to be pretty muscular. If he's thin, I want him tall and lanky.

You all make me feel like I don't have a type at all. I wonder how many of you factor in fashion, skin and eye color; etc.

Who's parents "truly" believe in, "I don't care what they look like, just bring home a respectable man/woman". Honestly..

That's what my folks told me, and therefore I don't really have a "type" set in stone. I'm about 5' 9" and at one time I was probably fluctuating between 125 and 137 pounds. I've always had a tone body from dancing, and sports. Not to mention the ectomorph body type(and yall talk about how hard it is to loose weight) runs in the family on both sides.

Today I'm at 145! I will say this; 120 and even 140 can look different. After gaining more weight I realized physical appearance is a high priority for a lot of people.

It kind of made me sick for awhile and even angry. There was a girl I wanted to date for the longest time; we were best friends. She could get any guy she wanted. And my insecurity never allowed me to make a move, plus she told others that our relationship was strictly platonic. After 8 months of working out I had my golden opportunity but I never took it. The only thing that changed about me was my body. Now, the change was good because I do feel stronger and faster. But my personality or the things I did for her weren't enough to grab her attention initially. Even nice people can be shallow(but then again it's all about what they like right).

If a lady has a good walk, beautiful eyes, or even a great smile that would be enough for me. I dated a woman who was 6' 0" and weighed more then myself(those legs were nice); but she believed our cultural difference(aka skin color) got in the way of things. And when I first started to hit the gym there was this girl I dated who was a few inches shorter, but she was in shape. She probably could've kicked my butt. She ended up be crazy though and still won't leave me alone. :/

Posted
I think you're weird. ;)

If a guy doesn't have at least 40 pounds and 5-6 inches on me (with an athletic build), I'd find him too feminine.

Most of the guys I've dated have had closer to 60 pounds and 8-9 inches on me.

I haven't read anything beside the first page, but I totally agree with this. My current guy has 9 inches on me and I love it.
