eerie_reverie Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Was it right after their first BJ ? You mean their last??
welikeincrowds Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I make it a point not to repeat pet names. I do the same! In fact I like coming up with nicknames. They feel really intimate to me, because if you do it right, you can beckon her with a word that no one else can use. I also like "baby girl" a lot. Actually, I prefer if it's spelled "bbe girl." Like, "Hey bbe girl how u doin?"
Stung Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Yes. He calls me "Bee", most of the time. It's a long story, based on what has become an inside joke for us. He also calls me by a diminutive of my name which only my closest friends and family use, or he calls me "my love," or "my beautiful wife." Pardon my confusion, ES, but I thought you broke up?
Art_Critic Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 he calls me "my love," or "my beautiful wife." Now that is sweet...
welikeincrowds Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 or he calls me "my love," Ain't another woman that could take your spot my

whichwayisup Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) My wife and I just call each other by our names... I called her sweetie once during a disagreement and from that day forward pet names were out.. My ex wife however.. she used to call me "Cheap Mother Effing Arshole or Prick" My H and I just call eachother by our first names. He isn't a mushy type of guy and because of that (and I am totally fine with it) neither am I. If he was a mushy type, I'm sure I would be too. OH WAIT!! Editted to add.. One time he called me "Kiddo" and I didn't like that. He caught me in the wrong mood (PMS unforunately) and instead of me just saying please don't call me that, I said (remember I had PMS)"what Daddy?" .. He didn't like that response, even more so since we were grocery shopping and i'm sure others heard. Edited May 26, 2011 by whichwayisup
lemonlegs Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 My boyfriend calls me "pookie" or "pookie bear." It started out as a joke nickname, but it's just stayed and he calls me it all the time now. As cheesy as it is, it's cute and it makes me laugh . I call him babe or, as someone else said, just add the "ie" at the end of his shortened name. He does the same with me, but he'll also call me sweetheart or baby girl. AWWW.

HappyPanda Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Panda! And gorgeous (thats ALWAYS nice to hear!) When we first started dating, we went to a Halloween party, and my 6 foot 1 boyfriend squeeeeeeezed into a Yoshi costume. Nuff said.
Author Eternal Sunshine Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 Pardon my confusion, ES, but I thought you broke up? We got back together 12 hours later
Jono85 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 don't get carried away with the names in person (typical stuff..babe/baby, princess, etc). but i like sending semi silly/creative ones in my meaningless daytime texts just to put a smile on her face. eg. how's my little flowerpot holding up today just try to mix it up

shadowofman Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I consistently get called pumpkin. My regular ex calls me "pie". I think that evolved from pumpkin. It's weird to hear this independently repeated by my last three girl friends, and now a new one. I have to assign a new name for each girl. Have used all the regular baby, sweety, darling, doll, muffin, snowflake. Regular ex is Mokey. Haven't developed the right one for my new interest yet. I call her Dr. Chica but not to her face. She's a Mexican doctor. Haha.
Eclypse Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 She calls me pooh bear after a valentines day card I gave her
Kamille Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 All the usual suspects: Honey and sweetie in every day talk. He calls me beautiful, gorgeous, I call him handsome. Like Erica and others, I will sometimes use a broader variety for comedic effects: hotpants, hotcakes, snugglebunny, etc. (I have noted a few here that I can add to my repertoire).
Jazzari Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 The one I liked best (from the past) is Sunshine. Love that.
EasyHeart Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I once said, "Good morning, sunshine" to a girlfriend and she FREAKED OUT!!! It turned out that's what her dad used to say to her when she was a little girl.
Banker Chick Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 babygirl -- and I love it. Even though we're breaking up I will never let anyone else call me that. He's the only boyfriend that's ever used that pet name. I am Christina and he's Christopher and so we are essentially Chris and Chris but all my friends call my Christy so he is the only one that calls me Chris and I call him Christopher. It's weird how those things come about.
Highness Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 This is v embarrassing, but he calls me "pot" and I call him "pie" - derivatives of "Snugglepot" and "Cuddlepie".
