wiseOLDman Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hi ladyjune- As with many things covered on LS, there is no simple answer, but I'll try. Your whole perspective on life will be altered. Suddenly, there is this small, completely helpless being who loves you, unconditionally. This being is a composite of you and your mate and you will feel the need to nurture it. 1. Keep an eye out for Postpartum Depression 2. It's not a bad thing to let them cry. You'll learn quickly when the crying really matters. 3. Only you will be able to determine your sex drive after childbirth. Hormones, etc come in to play, but sex can be equally fulfilling after having a child. 4. MAKE time for just you and your husband. He's gonna feel a bit neglected for some time. You will have the maternal instincts. Us guys have to follow your lead. Plan weekly "us" time during naps or, better yet, have a relative help out once a week. Enjoy the time. The coming months and years will be filled with uncertainty. But they can be the best years of your life. Just make sure that your husband does his part. Good luck! WoM
