Ladies....How long does it take?

I was discussing this with some of my female coworkers today.

 

Just curious ladies. On the average, when you begin to date a man, at what point do you start to know if it is going to last or not.

 

Some of the women told me after the third or fourth date. Others told me after a few months or so. So like I said, I was just curious.

I know immediately, often within minutes, if I want to have a relationship with a man. I don't think about whether or not it will last, accept when it's ending years later.

 

I've only had long term relationships. For me it's always been 1 date or 4 years, never anything in between. When I want a relationship with someone, I don't think about it lasting. I just hope it does and work to make it last.

 

Hmm...I guess it would be smart if I started thinking about how likely it is that a a particular relationship will lead to marriage.

I think it varies from person to person but if it's going to last, she's going to want to carry on dating him. Some people (like myself) would be monogamous when a relationship got physical but still might not want to declare a commitment. Being sexually exclusive and emotionally committed are different things. Emotional commitment takes time for me, yet others are ready to leap in there from day one.

I don't decide within minutes. But, I would say after a month or so for me. But, if I don't feel like we connect with each other after 3 or 4 dates, I decide not to go any further.

I know by the third date that it's NOT going to last. As for it lasting, it takes two to make that decision. But I generally know within two months, if we are firmly in LTR territory.

It's a lot easier to tell who's NOT going to last, than who IS.

 

I typically know by the end of the second date whether he is NOT going to last.
