Elisa89 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Assuming you like the person who's holding your hand, do you like the gesture of taking someone's hand? Does it make you bond with the person? Do you attribute a meaning to it or would you hold hands with just a friend(of the opposite sex)? Or do you dislike it? Do you feel like the other person decides where you are going? I would love to hear some opinions on this!
tb24 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I enjoy it. I always hold my girlfriend's hand if we're walking along or something. It's nice Not quite sure if there's any meaning other than enjoying the closeness. I can't imagine holding hands with someone who's just a friend though. I'd find that a bit weird.
Jazzari Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I love to hold hands. Especially when my BF initiates it, I feel a nice warm glow.
carhill Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Holding hands - Like it, love it, hate it? Love it. Very intimate. Great way to feel connected in a non-sexual way which is inoffensive to other's sensibilities in public. Recommend.
Lilmisus Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Absolutely love it. I think it's one of those sweet little gestures that just doesn't get old. It still makes me happy when my step-dad grabs my mom's hand while they're walking around, after being married for 19 years. Or when I see old couples walking down the beach, or after church, just holding hands and looking like they're very much in love still after all those years. It's just cute
nothappyjan Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Love, Love, Love it! Unfortunately no guy i've ever dated has ever liked it or done it past the first few dates:mad:
threebyfate Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Love it. H. and I still do it. But no, I wouldn't hold hands with a friend or family member of either gender except my son (which is a necessity since he's a runner!), unless it's to offer sympathy in the middle of a convo.
