I was just wondering if anyone has or knows anyone that has showed their exe or friend the info about G.I.G.S on LS while they were going through it? I would never do this to my exe so in no way is this am I asking this question in a way of seeking advice. I was just wondering how someone in that mind frame would react. I can guess how the conversation would go but I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done it.

To answer your question... You would come off as a crazy person and PISS them off! If you were to show it to their "friend"... Their friend is going to tell them that you showed them some "crazy" notion on why you broke up.

A person with G.I.G.S. is living the dream so to speak... They have tons of men and women vying for their attention. They are doing what they want, when they want and with who they want. They do not want to answer to anybody and do not want too. They want to party, date around, hook up, trying new things, etc. The person with G.I.G.S. does not really care what you or anyone else thinks.

Girls with G.I.G.S. don't have much to do with their "good" friends anymore. They will still talk and hang out occasionally, but most of their time is with their "good time" friends. The "good" friends are there when the person with G.I.G.S. needs a shoulder to cry on, having issues or got dumped by a "bad boy" or just want and need to be around "normal" people for a little bit. All their "good" friends end up doing is "patching" them up and the person is right back out there doing whatever it is they want / need to do.

People make the mistake of thinking that "normal", "good" or "healthy" friends or family can get through to a person with G.I.G.S. and help them see the light or error in their ways. They can't! A person with G.I.G.S. thinks that their "good" friends or family are boring, missing out and just do not understand them. So don't expect this to work... at all!

My advice if you were dumped due to someone with G.I.G.S is the following:

1. Agree with the break up.

2. Wish them well.

3. NO CONTACT!!! Otherwise, you are a safety net or shoulder to cry on when they get crapped on by the "bad boys".

4. Move on.

If you have issues with jealousy or retroactive jealousy...

It's OVER!

Why is that?

Hate to tell you this... but you need to know. Your Ex is going to date around, hook up, have sex with several (sometimes many) men, one night stands, drink all the time, maybe even try / do drugs, they can and do get into other relationships, etc.

If they do return... You will never get over what they did while they were away from you. So either you wouldn't give them a second chance and if you did... your jealousy will ruin it anyway.

If you are not jealous type...

There is some hope if you want a second chance.

After SEVERAL YEARS... most of the people with G.I.G.S. come back down to earth. Why? There life has no significance or meaning and they grow tired of all the BS. They want to settle down. NOTE: I said SEVERAL YEARS! Not days, not months... but YEARS!

What is the normal Timeframe for someone with G.I.G.S....

From my experience a lot of women date the "bad boys" from 18 - 25. Around 25 or so... they want to find Prince Charming and want to settle down, possibly even want marriage. If you were a Prince Charming when you dated them before... Don't be surprised if you hear from them again.

Things that can extend the G.I.G.S timeframe....

1. If your Ex had a sheltered childhood.

2. Was in a long relationship with you. For Example: Dated you from 16 - 22... Most likely there G.I.G.S. experience will last past 25.

3. Didn't go to college and have the "college experience".

4. Bad childhood.

5. Comes from a Crazy family.

6. Daddy Issues.

Things that can shorten G.I.G.S. timeframe...

Really only one thing can shorten the timeframe if you suffer from G.I.G.S.... That is A MAJOR life changing event like Parent or someone very close to them dying, arrests, DUIs, "losing it all", etc. Don't be fooled by them getting dumped or mistreated by some "bad boy"...

If you are contacted by your Ex with G.I.G.S.

If you broke up and it hasn't been a year or more and they are still under the age of 25, IGNORE and RUN! You are just a rebound, safety net, ego boost or shoulder to cry on. All you will end up doing is "patching" them back up and sending them back out there. They are not through G.I.G.S. yet.

If you broke up and it's more than a year and they are 25 or older, be cautious. I suggest LC, they will pursue you if they want a second chance. Do not be surprised... If they only contact you to apologize! This does happen when an Ex comes out of G.I.G.S. they will feel the need and desire to say they are sorry for being hurtful, cruel and selfish... only to relieve the guilt they feel. Good News if you care at this point... At least their apology is sincere and honest... this time.

Signs to look for to know your Ex is through G.I.G.S...

They will let you know what they want and what they are looking for (you do not have to bring it up, they will!), they will have NO ISSUE walking away from bad friends and influences, they will have no problem removing any obstacle that would prevent you from dating them, they will be very sincere and genuine, they will have no problem talking about and discussing the a future with you, etc.

When they are through with G.I.G.S.... They are not going to come to the table with any "issues" so to speak. There will be nobody else in the picture, they will be responsible, they will not be in therapy, they will not be all sad and depressed, they will not "NEED" you, etc. If they come to you and are "damage goods" so to speak... They are not through G.I.G.S. yet! Don't make the mistake and think that them coming to you full of problems or issues means that want you back!

Good Luck Everyone! I hope this helps you all out!

Great post like usual Homebrew. I actually meant if you have a friend that is going through G.I.G.S, and you show it to them. But it doesn't matter, the answers still the same.
