JimmyB26 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 So long story short, when I was 29 and separated and in the divorce process, I was seeing this 21 year old college student. She was gorgeous, fun, and a little (or a LOT) crazy, and I indulged myself, because I was hurt from my ex-W's cheating. She broke up with me over two years ago, in April 2009, two days before I was divorced officially, because she had met someone else and proceeded to start seeing him long distance. However, she tried to keep her hooks in me for MONTHS via texts and calls. Completely disrespected her new guy, which made me wonder who she was talking to while she was with me and showed me what she was like in a relationship. We last had a fight in April 2010 over the phone and haven't said a word to each other since. I found out last Monday that she still lives in the same neighborhood by the college, because I recognized her car driving by when I was walking down the street, since I work part time on campus. I know she saw me, but I just brushed it off and kept walking. Didn't call, didn't text - hell, her number isn't even in my phone anymore. Yesterday afternoon, after about ten days - I'm sure she expected to hear from me after we saw each other and didn't - I get a call from the number while I'm busy. I recognized it immediately. It wasn't a misdial either, the entire length of the ringtone played. But no voicemail. Breadcrumbs. If she's got something important to say, she can leave a message like a normal person. She didn't text either, which means she really didn't have a succinct, clear point in calling me. Just looking for attention. It's amazing how they NEVER delete our numbers. I haven't said a word to her in 13 months and counting. For all I knew she left the state a long time ago. Unfortunately I'm betting that this is the first of the new cycle of calls/texts.
