And I really wish there was an option to delete your profile. Remind me to never join a site I've never heard of and make sure you can delete your profile before joining it.

It's creepy and wrong but people do it--even here. They'll look at posts and username to gather what the person's "into" then do searches to dig up stuff. It's very odd but it happens.

I tend to use the same username on boards that are non-relationship related, or potentially embarrassing. I even choose different usernames on porn forums; I don't want them tied together. The only way someone could "dig up the dirt" on me, is if they knew me personally, or if they were a computer hacker. And I'd hope that someone I know personally knows that I'm a good enough person, that I don't deserve to have my real name and personal information revealed.
