Jazzari Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Would you date a webcam model? Or is that no different from prostitution?
perfectlyunique Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Would you date a webcam model? Or is that no different from prostitution? most of them do it for the money only and because its safe, your at home and theres no physical contact so i dont see it as prostituion
Nexus One Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Would you date a webcam model? Or is that no different from prostitution? Not entirely sure how you mean that. Do you mean if guys would date a woman who happens to be a webcam model as her profession? Or do you mean that the guy would need to pay for her time while he's dating her? Why the question though Jazzari, do you happen to work as a webcam model?

But my financial situation is making me consider it. I really don't want to, but....

If so then there have to be other job options out there for you. Also I'd bet that the guy you are dating right now would rather want you to ask him for help than have you work as a webcam model. Exhaust all other options first.

No, I don't work as one. But my financial situation is making me consider it. I really don't want to, but.... to be honest i worked as one for about a year a few years ago. you do make a fair bit of money but i wouldnt really suggest doing it to anyone it made me feel crap about myself and i started to hate men and think they was after only one thing. they have no respect for you whatsoever. if you do do it i think you have to be a failry strong person. i was with my bf at the time, he knew about it. we was desperate for the money. i wasnt sleeping with anyone else. so no its not prostitution i was 100% in love with my bf and never cheated and never would
Sh0t Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Dating one now. I met her before she started web camming, but she was already an exotic dancer. It's pretty bland actually.
Feelin Frisky Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 It would depend on the situation and the woman. But of course I would prefer my SO didn't do that for a number of reasons. I don't know anything about it though or how far that goes. The only plus is that you'd expect someone who gravitates toward that to be a real sex pot. The question then becomes how much and can you handle it? I don't see a frigid woman who doesn't love sex doing something like that for cash--it may make her even more turned off. Complicated.

I don't think I could ask my guy for help. I'm sure he'd be willing but I just can't bring myself to do it. If things get that bad, I'll sell my house first. But you do have a point that he probably wouldn't like it. And I couldn't do it without letting him know. I don't want to ruin that relationship. to be honest i worked as one for about a year a few years ago. you do make a fair bit of money but i wouldnt really suggest doing it to anyone it made me feel crap about myself and i started to hate men and think they was after only one thing. they have no respect for you whatsoever. if you do do it i think you have to be a failry strong person. i was with my bf at the time, he knew about it. we was desperate for the money. i wasnt sleeping with anyone else. so no its not prostitution i was 100% in love with my bf and never cheated and never wouldThis is very helpful - thank you. The problems you brought up are the ones I worry about. I heading out now to go over my finances. I'm terrible at math so I'm getting some help. Hopefully things aren't as bad as I suspect.

Hopefully things aren't as bad as I suspect. if your worried about your finances (if your in the uk) try going to the citizens advice bureau if you have any debt etc or if your struggling to pay bills contact them. i made lots of cut backs . i still dont have a proper job but im getting there. ive volunteered and done a few courses and now im with a company who places you with a family with a disabled child and when ive finished the course the pays quite good. i would never go back to the webcam thing i hated every minute of it tbh. its sounds so easy but personally it made me feel rubbish about myself
Jynxx Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Ofcourse I would. It would be nice to have someone with flexible hours and the freedom it brings, presumably a nice hourly and most likely a hot body. Added to that she will know how to turn men on while not having intercourse with other men. That's about as good as it gets
oaks Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Would you date a webcam model? So long as she still wanted to have sex with me at the end of a day of pretending to have sex with herself I think I could cope with it.
fishtaco Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Yes I would, if she proves to be awesome, but my preference is someone with a "normal job". So that means I'll examine her even more closely than someone who is not in these types of industry. The sex industry, for women of even moderate attractiveness, is an easy (but soul crushing) way to make money. But I believe there are other ways out, although they are probably not as easy.
musemaj11 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 How convenient to be a woman. If you are desperate for money, you can always solicit money from men using your body.
fishtaco Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 How convenient to be a woman. If you are desperate for money, you can always solicit money from men using your body. In stead of saying "how convenient" for women, I'd say "how stupid for men to pay money for this".
carhill Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I likely wouldn't have an issue with some fetish stuff and/or light bdsm which doesn't involve nudity but would likely draw the line at nudity and sex play/mutual masturbation, etc. Full disclosure and transparency would be a prerequisite, along with intimacy in the relationship being the priority. If that sounds too complicated, just use 'no'. My sympathies regarding the difficult choices you must make. BTDT. Do what you have to do. It'll work out.

musemaj11 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 In stead of saying "how convenient" for women, I'd say "how stupid for men to pay money for this". Can you imagine how the female population is going to survive if suddenly the entire male population stopped having sexual desire? My prediction is that at least half of them are going to cause a major humanitarian crisis.

Ross MwcFan Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Would you date a webcam model? Or is that no different from prostitution? Lol, there's quite a big difference between a webcam model and prostitution. But yeah, sure I'd date her. Why not?
Author Jazzari Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Thanks for all the feedback. I just got back from having my finances looked at, and though I need to be careful, I'm good for now. I made an error that made things look worse than what it actually was. Whew! Though I did get a shocked look when upon hearing the news I burst out with "Oh, thank god! Now I don't have to be a webcam model!"
oaks Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Though I did get a shocked look when upon hearing the news I burst out with "Oh, thank god! Now I don't have to be a webcam model!" You call it a shocked look, but I'm sure your accountant was just trying to imagine what you look like naked.
sagetalk Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 In stead of saying "how convenient" for women, I'd say "how stupid for men to pay money for this". A lot of them are married as well. Truly sad.
fishtaco Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Can you imagine how the female population is going to survive if suddenly the entire male population stopped having sexual desire? But having sexual desire is not connected to paying money for non-sexual services. Such as web cam and going to a strip club. I'm neither condoning nor condemning prostitution, I'm just saying if sex is desired, then paying for sex makes sense. Strip clubs and web cams? I don't understand. Plus, it's not that difficult to get sex. Ironically, it's probably considered less "immoral" and have less stigma, in our current society, to use unscrupulous methods of getting sex from women than to purchase services from a prostitute. Not to mention one is legal while the other one is not (in most places).
