I have this copy of the book "Why Men Love Bitches"... its written in a tongue in cheek kind of way. Well the author lists a few attraction principles.. some of which I think are good but this one here???

"If you tell him you are not interested in jumping into a relationship with both feet, he will set out to try to change your mind."

Her explanation is that it will quell the man's fears that you are interested in something serious. She says as long as you appear interested in him he will keep coming your way. In his mind, you'll always be able to be convinced otherwise because men are so conditioned to meeting women who want commitment By not appearing to want commitment, you throw a monkey wrench in the lock-down program. He no longer knows what to expect.

I know a lot of guys don't, but I judge girls on whether they are "girlfriend material". I got turned off a girl when she said she didn't want anything serious. Though admittedly, that was far more non-committal than saying "I'm not sure i'm ready for a relationship".

Also, a lot of guys would not be in the mindset of "try to change your mind" but instead "Great, a ****buddy!"

This might work if the guy is already very into you, I suppose. At which point it's irrelevant anyway, because he'll be after you whether you want commitment or not...

It's pretty much common knowledge that many women want to play around just as men so I don't see most people being shocked by this. If a woman wants a relationship with a man the best way to do it is make him look forward to actually being with you. What most smart men look at the most is what is daily life with her like. Men want a woman that they can actually enjoy being with. Many super commitment minded women are not very fun to be with.
