PrettyLady1 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I am in my early twenties and i prefer to date men who are at least 10 years older than me. My limit is probably 15 years older than me. This doesnt mean I wont date someone around my age I just prefer someone who is older. Some ppl think its disgusting and some think its okay. I've liked older men for as long as i can remember. I have a mature personality so that might be a part of it, but for some strange reason i'm attracted to older men. I would say 10 years is a decent age difference. What do you think?
Tybalt Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I agree that the important thing is the compatibility of the two people, values, what they want out of a relationship, etc. I dated a man 20 years older than I was once, and I felt like the mature one. It seemed like he was always looking to me for guidance. This man had the energy level and appearance of a much younger man as well, so I think that comes into play in people's reactions. I've seen almost 50 year olds who look 35 and 30 year olds who look like they are pushing 40.
orion1010 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 EHH.. age is a number. I prefer men a little younger than me, but not 10 years, because... well.. they'd just be legal.. but, I don't think in your case, in your early 20's it's a big deal at all. It's not gross at all. Go for it!

Go for it! Word to this. I always find myself attracted to guys who are juuust my age or younger (hardly ever older. I am 28), and I don't think..say 22 and 32 is too big of a deal at all.

If I do go any older, it's usually only like, by a couple years. I've never understood the mentality of women who like older men, either. It seems gross to me. But hey...10 years isn't bad, because I'd date a guy 10 years younger than me...oh.wait. Never mind. That'd be illegal.

Sometimes my friends think I'm crazy and should date older b/c they assume I will get married faster. I don't want to meet mr. husband. I want to meet mr right and and don't want to settle for anyone in a hurry. I'm 29 and I look younger, I have a lot of energy and well.. I like men like me and find that a lot of men over 30 are not for me in that catagory at this point in my life. (I'm not a big party girl). I could change my mind in the future... I look younger and feel young. workout, take care of myself and I'm at the age where if I want to be at the arm of a younger guy, I'm going to take advantage of it. Life is too short not to just do what you please. Especially if I'm single and just out of a ltr.

I'm not going to be interested in a 21 yr old guy cause that's too young, too inexperienced, still too much to learn. But 24 and up...game
Star Gazer Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 It's VERY rare that someone who's 21-22 (that's just a few years out of HIGH SCHOOL) will be in the same stage of life as someone who's 31-32, and if they are, the younger is abnormally mature, the older abnormally immature, or both.
