In the south the meaning was always one of a person lower than putrid vomit:mad:. Now if we want to talk about that label being applied to Arrnooldd himself...slap him down with it. You'd be surprise the cultural meaning to that word.

The sins of the mother and father are their own sins and the child is innocent. In all actuality, the child isn't a bastard either way because he/she did have a father when he/she was born. I feel sorry for Maria too because I think she's a great woman and has done great work. However, I can't judge what happened in her marriage as I wasn't there and what happens behind closed doors would shock people. Bastard- A child whose birth lacks legal legitimacy—that is, one born to a woman and a man who are not legally married. Let's not get our panties all wet now. That's what the word means, literally. Not our fault that's the definition. Do we have to use it. No, but that is the meaning of it. Unless it has changed but isn't half the universe one anyway?

So what if she was eligible to retire with benefits, and so what if he waited till his governorship was over.... that's not "wheels falling off"... at least not to me. There was no apparent need to come clean now - which is what the phrase means to me. And maybe there was a greater motive behind it - but really, again, all we are are voyeurs in their lives. We don't know and never will know the internal workings of anyone elses mind. Maybe he's a 1st class jerk. Maybe he's trying not to be a 1st class jerk. Maybe, maybe, maybe. I guess I'd really rather not think the worst of someone when there isn't any need to. I personally feel bad for all of them. Bad choices that haunt the rest of your life are easy to make. We all make them. The bolded- There could be, just after a little damage control. Don't you think? Actually if you think about it, this would be the time to come clean. The two parties holding the secret met their goals already. Party over! Umm... some people seem to make those bad choices with little thought of the long term consequences though. Not everyone is like this. There is that fine little line that makes a bad choice a lifetime of more bad choices.

Surely there is some bad publicity about this .. but it will blow over. People are already numb to all the movie stars doing you know what. No one expect them, or politicians to be clean anyway. And people are begging him to come back and make movies. No matter how much you hate what he did, i highly doubt he is going to suffer much from it. Unfortunately you are right. I saw footage of him just days ago, smoking a cigar and acting like he has the world at his feet. He doesn't look distressed in the least. He should get his saggy chin and neck area tightened and get rid of the orange hair. He's certainly no "hunk".

Why she married a body-builder is beyond me! uhhh A guy who came here with nothing and could barely speak english...turned Champion Body Builder..turned high profile actor turned governor of the largest state in the United States of America..... Not defending the guy because I really dont know all the details (neither do any of you)...but you cant sit there and wonder what she saw in him.... Kennedy or no Kennedy its kinda hard to get much better than that. Like him or not hes pretty impressive

You'd be surprised.....No he cant do the same roles he did in the past due to age issues but hes a versatile guy that draws a lot of people. He'll just start playing different types of roles. This "scandal" will have no affect whatsoever on his career

I don't know how much he cares about his children, but certainly he is not going to be lonely, or shunned by society. In fact, i bet he probably gloats, in private, to his friend that he can keep it going for 10 years. Good guys don't always win, and bad guys don't always suffer, unlike in the movies.

True Maria's husband was the one who was supposed to be faithful, but I have to wonder what kind of woman this is that would smile in Maria's face everyday, care for Maria's kids, accept presents from Maria, all the while screwing Maria's husband, probably in the house. Then to wait 10 years for retirement. What kind of a woman is this???? I hope she gets her payback too. People don't care about anyone but themselves. Her ex husband probably knew this and that's why the maid isn't with him anymore.

She has also made no comments about the woman who worked in her home for 20 years while hiding a child by her husband. class and dignity. it is disgusting to me that some of you want to blame Maria for this because she should have known better. disgusting. I am not blaming Maria for Arnold's actions. BUT she knew and she chose to stay. Think: Hillary Clinton. I stayed in my marriage, too, even when I knew my former H was a cheat many times over, albeit, anything intimate between us ceased, our marriage was still a partnership. So no, I do not feel sad for her. She has a lot going for her, she will be fine.

Just shows that young people shouldn't look up to "famous" people and use them as role models. They are far from perfect, yet they "life" they want everybody to believe isn't always real. All I'd like to know is, WTF was going through Arnie's mind? How can he hide this for so long and think noone would find out!

Um, have you ever taken a good look at Maria? A case study in anorexia. She's about as attractive as Skeletor. I wonder how much tooth enamel she has left. I don't blame Arnold one bit for getting some on the side. Having sex with Maria must be sort of like lying on a bed of nails. Those elbows and knees, not to mention that beak of hers, would break the skin and draw blood. Easily. Heaven only knows what she looks like with her clothes off--probably like she just came strolling out of Auschwitz. And she knew he was a complete dog when they got married, that was his reputation. She can't complain about this now and have any credibility. You know, if these kind of women would only be content with a down to earth guy, instead of always insisting on the super Alpha male, they might have a better chance of keeping 'ol Rover within the fence perimeter. Oh well at least Arnold didn't drive his baby momma off a bridge and leave her to drown, like Uncle Teddy. Anyone in the Kennedy family is the last person in the world to complain about Arnold's antics with the ladies.
