I think the world is far too small a place. I live in a fairly big city. The chances of running into my ex at any time is very small. I am doing what I need to. Keeping NC, moving on. We have been broken up since Jan. and I have only seen him once since then....when he asked me to marry him.....

ANYWAYS to the point of this post.....I started dating someone and on our second time meeting I am wearing a jacket from my ex's work site and this new guy, who is fantastic, says....I used to work there! He knows my ex!

I was honest but then we got into this discussion of how he felt I was not the type he could ever imagine being with my ex. I felt uncomfortable talking about my ex as I currently feel lots of negative thoughts about my ex and I don't think it is healthy to talk about with someone new. I did not want to be dishonest and secretive.

Do I try to keep the rest of the facts about my relationship with my ex secret or do I be open?

This man I have started dating is fantastic and I am really looking forward to getting to know him. I don't want to mess things up with him.

I feel the best thing to do is only talk about your ex's relationship if he brings it up. It's important to be honest about the relationship to the current guy, because if you lie and he finds out about it then he'll start to question everything you explained.

If he doesn't ask about it, don't bring it up. If you're talking about your ex's relationship on a third date the guy might see it as a red flag.

If it is bothering you not telling him, try to wait until your deeper in the relationship and a bit more secure before you're telling all the details about your ex.

Speaking of small world, I also live in BC :p
