buranko Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 me and my girlfriend broke up just this past week. it wasn't a conclusive break imo: i do not know if she was lying when she said that (she was a little tipsy) 1) i really dont want to break up with you 2) she'll miss me alot 3) she's not that strong, i must reject her if she ever wants to get together with me again i took it like a man, and told her that i love her, but if she thinks she is better off without me and that she feels happier then its only right that she goes. the next day she came over to my place and we got intimate again. (i regret this, for i really thought she thought it through and didn't want a break up anymore, but she just told me to be happy and cheer up) since then, i've observed NC, and gave short replies if she ever msg me. i'm sad and depressed and a part of me feels that i can get her back. but for now, i'd rather assume its over and start healing. though i feel that the problems are fixable, but no point talking it out to some1 who wouldn't commit. her friends says that she is very upset over this. But, i'll have to work with her come this june for a 2 months long project, any ppl with experience can share with me how does it feels to be in close proximate working rls with an ex?
smudge21 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Sorry to say but it won't be easy working with an ex, especially when you still have feelings. From what you've said it does sound like she also has similar feelings still and the relationship may not be dead and buried just yet, so whatever you feel, she most likely will feel the same. I reckon because of this you should try and keep it as nice and polite as possible at work when you have to see her. She'll want to see you as the confident guy she fell for, not some falling apart desperate individual (even thought that may be how you feel). I would see how she reacts too and see what happens. Working together could lead to anything (there's no rules in relationships) and there's no point in second guessing as to what may or may not happen. It will be hard, but that's why you'll come back here for support.
