thehead Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 to be honest, in my short experience on here (I've been lurking for a long time) since I've put my picture on here I have gotten more harsh and perhaps judgemental responses. I don't think I get any special treatment for my pic being up. although, I may not be attractive to certain men on here. to each their own. I just want honest responses and sometimes they can be harsh. I could see that. May I ask why you put your picture up? I don't think every woman does it for attention. What was your reason? It might be others'.

It's something like about a month and 70 posts (approximately). If that is you in your avatar, you have to come back once you get the PM privilege to report on Orangelady's hypothesis. We also want to know if Johan is going to lay some on you. edit: Art Critic is probably right about the 100 - 150 posts. It is me in my avatar and will come back to report once I'm able to get PM's. But I don't think it will change much. men on here are pretty good at just saying how it is no matter who is posting for what I've seen thus far. Once I'm able to get PM's that could totally change. who is Johan?

It might be others'.[/quote The reason I did was because in a different forum which is about a hobby of mine, I was the first to put my picture up and others followed. The forum after some time became more friendly and open. The forum was 99% women though. Nothing bad came from it, so why not again?

Johan is the green robot who comes into a thread to either say something outrageously funny or outrageously perceptive. One of my LS favorites. (Not flirting, just stating the truth!)

She's not getting the male attention that she wishes for. But only she knows what the purpose of this thread. As far as the "exposure" portion you're talking about...

There is a recurring theme of guys only going after attractive girls, not being attractive enough, life isn't fair, etc.

It's not totally strange... I've posted mine before but I did it for an hour or so. Many people do post themselves in their avatars and many don't.. To each his own... On Facebook I post either my picture or my kids picture as my avatar... I do think though that I, like you do like the anonymity of LS and l wouldn't keep my picture posted for that reason though...

I'm almost a 29 year old virgin, living at home, who hasn't been kissed or had a girlfriend. And I've been told, directly on here, that I have a snowball's chance in hell of getting into a relationship, based on that criteria. In fact, if I DID post my picture, people on here would probably print it out, or email it to people. Look at the loser. All that jazz.

I don't feel like I'm 'off' in any way. I have been called a danger seeker, naive, been told i have a lack of boundries on this site. Maybe it's the way my personality comes off online but nobody really 'knows' me. Posting your own pic is not a big deal to some people. The internet is not exactly private anymore. If anyone is reading this that knows me through my picture all I have to say to them is: Hey, how's it going?

People aren't that terrible, at least not from what I've seen of LS. Just to add in, you do have a chance, like everyone else. Don't let others make you feel low. I actually am far more attracted to men with less experience.

Are you new to the Internet? It's really common for people to have their pic as thier avatar or a pic in their profile. Totally normal. It's nice to be able to see who the person is behind the posts.
