cataclysmic.road Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 can a guy care for you but still have feelings for an ex? he says he cares for me as more then a friend but before entering into a relationship with me he wants to be rid of all past feelings for his ex that havent gone away... or does that just mean he's picking her? would you remain his friend? need advice! thanks
thatone Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 yeah he's probably trying to get back together with her and holding on to you as a backup plan. shouldn't be that hard to spot, women do this more than men do, you're bound to have had female friends that do this all the time.

But if it was me, I would belive that he was not into me, for whatever reason and move on. I don't feel that unrequited love is a good thing for anyone. Distance yourself and then determine if you want a friendship with him. If he goes back to his ex and it doesn't work out and he really did like you, then he will call you and have to win you over.
