Why do you do that?

Why do a lot of girls tend to try and control what their man can look at or say to other woman? Like my girlfriend who does that sometimes, but I see her do the exact same thing to even a greater extent. Either, she is ignorant of it, or she is a hypocrite. So what's the deal? Any thoughts on that?

Jealousy, maybe.

I know I flirt with guys constantly. When with my ex, I would flirt with a male server with him right there and not think anything of it. I justified it one time by saying that male servers typically flirt with the females, which is bullsh*t I know, but it was the first thing I could think of when he mentioned it

But when he flirted with another girl, it made my stomach twist and turn. Even if it was a girl friend of ours who I knew he wasn't interested in and knew she wasn't interested in him. It just made me jealous.

But I never tried to control what he said or did around other girls. Never even asked or brought it up since I knew I'd be a hypocrite if I did. If your girl brings it up just tell her that you don't try to control how she behaves around guys, so please be trusting enough to not try to control how you behave around other girls. Don't be an ass about it of course, but I don't think she should be a hypocrite here

I don't control what my partner does or says around women. If he can't respect me or has unfaithful actions, I'll leave.

Harmless flirting is fine, but being disrespectful to me by chasing other women is not.

I always give the benefit of the doubt in the beginning. I'll give you my trust, if you break it, I'm gone.

I treat partners how Id like to be treated. :)

But it becomes difficult to say definitively. If she feels like she should be able to do something, or has convinced herself that what she does is either different in some way or is okay but on my end I really don't see it as right then I honestly see it kind of as a red flag if I can't tell her that I don't like it and it makes me uncomfortable.

If you were to want to hang out with an ex or something like that, I don't think very many guys or girls would be comfortable with that idea. That isn't a matter of trust, it's kind of BS in my book.
