Enjaycee Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 My girlfriend and I have been dating for close to six months now. I'm 19 she's 18, but turning 19 this month. One time when I was talking to her she told me that she thinks that I might leave her someday. This is because she's had friends and family members leave out on her before and so doesn't think that most people in her life will be with her I have no intention of parting with her at all anytime soon, I think this girl's amazing and to leave her would not only be a stupid decision on my part. She helped improve my life in so many ways. I love her and I want to try to remove this underlying doubt that I won't stay with her for a very long time (it's still too early to think about marriage and such). How can i convince her that I won't leave her?
welikeincrowds Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Propose. Otherwise, don't bother engaging her on it. Don't feed it, don't give it attention, don't attack her on it, don't make it okay with you. If anything, I think that insecurity is a projection of her own fear about how she will behave. There is nothing to be gained and so much to be lost by attempting to sate the insecurities of a 19 year old girl. One data point.
