Basically, are these two equivalents in the dating world? Does an ugly man have the same amount of options(or lack there of) as an obese woman?

Posted

Many men who others would label as ugly have very appealing women. Many obese women also have good looking men. Everyone has a different eye for beauty.

People always assume they lack options, but if they have a great character and charming smile, they can and still will get dates.

We are overly shallow, it's terrible.

If the guy is rich or has extremely high status, I can see that. But otherwise, I don't. I also can't say I see many good looking guys with obese women. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I've seen maybe 1 good looking guy in my life with an obese woman.

I think it's all about knowing what league you're in. If you're an average looking guy that earns an average salary, that has an average personality, it's unreasonable to expect to date and/or marry the supermodel. But if you aim for women similar in looks and income, of course you'll have better results.

No doubt. I would never turn down an overweight woman right off the bat(provided she's not morbidly obese), but I'd have to say I'd be in the minority, unfortunately.

What if a man is ugly AND obese? What then?

I never went by leagues. If i'm interested in someone ill take a shot. Who's to say that someone is better than you?

Sure, they may make more money or have a nice face. Who we are on the outside shines through. Just because you appear perfect on the outside it doesn't mean that you are the same on the inside.

I've seen numerous gorgeous women with "average" or "below average" men.

Many of these men also had low income, but they did have a great heart.

An ugly man has more options. Look at Mike the Situation for example. He's ugly but he was once a stripper iirc.

Situation isn't ugly. You can't be a stripper if you're ugly.

No, underachieving slacker men = obese women.

Sure, they can both find people with the fetish to like them. There are fat chasers just like there are women willing to pay for their broke-ass loser boyfriends. But the average folks aren't into that.

So ladies, go to the gym and cut back on the ice cream.

Guys, go get a job and make some money.

Men under 5'10 = obese women from my experience.

Women are open to dating a guy with an ugly face if he has a very muscular body, tall height, a lot of money, or even a big wang.

The shorter guys will still struggle even if they have big muscles or a lot of money.

Hardly. Being 5'9" isn't a handicap. If you were say 5'5", then I'd agree. 5'9" is very much an average height.

I am 6"2 and it isn't like women are banging down my door! lol

5'9" is average height, that's true.

And it's very unlikely that a woman would reject you for being that height. Unless she was 6 foot tall, or something like that (and even then, it might not matter much.)

I'm 6'2" as well, but it also depends what you look like. If you're 6'2" and look like Lurch, Quasimodo, or Michael Phelps, then your height doesn't matter.

I'm 5'3 and id date someone whos 5'4.

Last time I checked I wasn't obese or that bad on the eyes...

Well, I kind of look like Prince William; definitely not a Quasimodo lookalike (lol) but not a model either.

I think women and men are more attracted to one's face than body! For example, A handsome guy who is overweight will have more luck with dating than someone who is ripped but has a face like Michael Phelps or Nicholas Cage.

Far from it. And I'm guessing you speak French as well. Just bust out those French phrases. :)

He's a decent looking guy. Certainly not a bad thing. With hair, I get Pauly D, Maxim Lapierre(sorry Rinnix, he's a f*cking tool), and John Travolta(his younger days).

Depends on how much you've had to drink...

I speak some french, but It's not perfectly fluent. I'm moving out of french area to escape it. So no worries, I'm not much a fan of those who are french.

You can get away with it in Montreal. My Quebecois neighbors some years back complained about the non-French speakers there(they came from Beaconsfield). I'm sure if you were in Quebec City, you'd have a much more difficult time.

Nope just as bad here. I went into blockbuster and some random woman began to give me catty eyes and attitude because I dare speak english in Quebec. (not even a worker.)

I'm in a 50/50 area. To Ontario I come!

My neighbors told me most of the English speakers are in downtown and west of the city. Why not go to Montreal-Ouest(they taught me some French when they lived by me )? I guess if you told them you were a tourist, they would have been nicer.

I can understand the french just fine, but when I speak it I get this terrible english accent to it. Franglais so they call it. :lmao:

It's difficult to work if you are not 100% french. They hire people who can't speak english for dear life though.

I honestly just want to escape Quebec all together. :p

I actually would like to move there if I can become fluent. I have the basics down, so I could probably become fluent in about a year or so.

To get this thread somewhat back on topic, how is the obesity rate in Quebec?

Most men would approve, in montreal theres numerous gorgeous women. I don't see very many obese. Some are more curvy, but overall pretty good selection.

Probably more quality than those here in southern California. Makes me want to move to Montreal.
