JimmyB26 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Well, I knew it would happen eventually. Working part-time for a different part of the Uni I got my doctorate from and the chick who dumped me is still living in the neighborhood doing god knows what. I parked at my old parking lot, missed the bus across to the other campus blocks away, and decided to enjoy the beautiful May weather and walk it. Lo and behold, along the way, I see a car approaching with a familiar color, cover, and then the plate. Know she saw me. Just kept walking forward, albeit with a slight amused smirk on my face - perhaps enjoying the fact that she wasn't going to get the ego boost from me that I know she was seeking once she saw me? Just as an experiment, not that I want or care to hear from her, but let's see if I get a text. If not, I'm fine, of course.
1784 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Nothing wrong with enjoying a little self satisfaction in your own resolve
Author JimmyB26 Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Ten days later, this past Thursday, in the middle of the afternoon, I got a call on my cell from her. She's not in my phonebook any more, hasn't been for over a year. But I recognized her old cell phone number. It wasn't a misdial, because the entire length of my ringtone played - I was busy in the other room at the time. But I didn't get a voicemail. So obviously she had no succinct, clear message she wanted or needed to relay to me, or I would have gotten a voicemail or a text. Instead I just got a missed call. I'm chalking this up to her surprise that I didn't contact HER after seeing her and her wondering why that is. I haven't responded in any way and don't plan to. It's amazing though - they really never do delete our numbers, do they? I'm betting this is just the first of multiple attempts to reach me.
El_Enamorado Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Dont trip homie. Just keep on doing your thing. Same thing was happening with my ex girl. She would keep calling and calling but got rejected. I think they just call just to make sure they still have us in the hook. They maybe just feel lonely. I changed my number. If they want to talk, let them go to your face and talk. Nothing should be done by phone or computer, seriously.
Author JimmyB26 Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Thanks Enamorado, I'm just continuing to live my life. No other contact yet though.
