Saraswati57 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Heck, I know I do, because of my rampant insecurities. What about the lot of you here?
neghitzbrah Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 There might be a possibility that you might be dating people you are not attracted to. Or maybe you are "settling" for someone to date. I used to do both and remained unhappy with whom I was dating. I finally got over it... sure I am dating a lot less, but it makes all the difference when not dating a "lost cause."
Author Saraswati57 Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 Hey thanks for the reply. I just meant my insecurities make it hard for me to talk to those I like, ask them out, initiaite conversation etc. That is why I feel like a "lost cause." I feel like a fish in a tank slowly draining of water.
jane100 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 (edited) Can you still concentrate on your positive attributes. e.g. you might be good-looking, well-read, fun, spiritual, athletic, etc. I don't think anyone expects a perfect person. Also, if you are complementary about the other person and enjoy their company, they are willing I bet to overlook alot There is nothing wrong in feeling a bit insecure or vulnerable, its better to be aware of it, than hide it from yourself or pretend, don't you think. Finally, you can appreciate being single! There are a couple of books on the market. Being single can be fun, great, and so on, its not a life sentence! Also that way, dating can remain just full of fun and possibilities (OK perhaps I am taking it too far ). Edited May 8, 2011 by jane100
strlixx Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 depends on who im with. if they make ur insecurtes (sp? english isnt my first language) *Insecurities(!) worse, then u sure can feel like ur a lost cause
Disillusioned Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 More like damned if I do, damned if I don't. Some people tell me to just settle for anything with two X chromosomes, while others tell me to be picky or I'll be sorry.

Yeah, in the sense I'm the same way, I feel like I'll be screwed no matter which road I take, but my Achille's Heel is inexperience.
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I just try to keep my head up, and hope for the best.
