Disillusioned Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Are you as turned off as I am by women who act ditzy? Maybe their lack of intelligence makes them targets for the sort of men who'd take advantage of a woman who's not very bright, but when a ditz is near me, all I can sense is trouble.
Sabali Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Turned off sexually by them? No. Turned off from hanging out with them, foing on fun dates and having general mindless fun? No. Turned off from any thing long term and meaningful in the long run? Yes.

fortyninethousand322 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I'm actually sexually turned on by intellectual women. I don't why, but it's just the way it is. That being said, I do have female friends who are the ditzy type, and while I'm not interested in them, I'm also not annoyed by them either.
Feelin Frisky Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Since I'm not the type of guy who plays with other people's feelings cavalierly, having someone ditzy in my midst just calls for a temporary accommodation of courtesy. I wouldn't bother about it.

That being said, I do have female friends who are the ditzy type, and while I'm not interested in them, I'm also not annoyed by them either. I'm not a man but I've noticed that all men who date me have told me that they like me because I'm intellectual and not ditzy and they find that extremely attractive, so I know there's a lot of men out there who agree with this viewpoint.
stepka Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 How do you feel about women who are intelligent and ditzy? A woman who reads too many books but would forget her hat on the bus? A woman who makes weird connections between things that are not related. My happiness is riding on your answer.
Dust Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 A girl who lacks things turns me off. I'm focused on the things I'm looking for in a woman which does include brains as well as beauty. So if ditzy means lacking the beautiful mind I'm looking for then that girl is for me. I sugest you try to focus on what you are looking for instead of listing negatives.

I know I am not a ditz, though I can act the part if I want to or am just not interested in the person I am with. Not to get too far off topic but some men in the past have told me they are intimidated by me. One even went as far as to tell me that I am too smart, and that I made him understand why most men stick with "dumb girls". Like wtf!?! Of course I probed him about it looking for an explanation to his comment and he said men don't like women who ask too many questions and try to figure things out too much. I repeat, wtf!?! I have been told that I shouldn't think so much.

I find ditzyness cute and attractive but I kinda hate myself for it. I don't like girls who are ditzy because they are usually either stupid which for me is a turn off, or faking it because they know guys get attracted to that kind of personality which also turns me off. But most traits I find cute in my gfs are kinda ditzy qualities and I really like them, but they are not ditzy all the time, they just have small quirky tendancies. But the same traits in other women I often find annoying.

Els Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I personally know some guys who are attracted to the ditzes (assuming true lack of intelligence, not merely forgetfulness etc), and intimidated by the intellectuals. Glad to see the guys here are a little more sensible. Stepka, I totally get what you mean. My friends in high school used to tease me that it seemed to take more concentration for me to carry the bowl of soup to the table without spilling it, than to work out the tougher higher math problems.
TheLoneSock Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Are you as turned off as I am by women who act ditzy? Yes, incredibly so. She has to have a banging body to make up for it.

Smart confident women are my thing. I'm not much for ditzes or those who allow their insecurity to cripple them. They are even too frustrating to have as friends. It's hard to respect. Give me a fun, funny, intelligent (and preferably athletic) woman and I'm sold.
