Has anyone here gotten crowns or veneers?

I have decided again braces because I generally don't mind how my smile looks. When I smile just my top teeth show, which I like.

If I were to correct the alignment with braces both top & bottom teeth would show. (Went to an ortho consult)

I'm not fond of that look, so im deciding to live with some minor imperfections.

I have one tooth that id want capped in order to be happier with my overall smile. It's an annoying tooth that pops out (lol snaggletooth).

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has gotten them & was happy with the results? And how the procedure is?

It's pricey but I think it will be worth getting done, when I'm less broke anyway. :)

I'll be asking my dentist during my next appointment, but people who have experience would be appreciated. :p

I don't have them. I wouldn't do it for vanity. I probably will have to get a crown pretty soon, because one of my molars keeps threatening to break. There's a crack in it somewhere.

Sorry that didn't really answer your question.

Maybe you should just get a grill of some sort. That would look pretty hot.

I've never gotten crowns or veneers myself, but I work in dentistry so I know a good amount about the subject.

Crowns and the like can be very esthetic if you go to a good dentist, and making your smile more esthetic can certainly be a good reason for getting a crown. However, do be aware that in order to get crowns/veneers, the dentist will have to remove tooth structure to do so. The more tooth structure you take away, the weaker the tooth becomes. If you don't have excellent oral hygiene, as you get older this means a higher likelihood of losing that tooth. I probably wouldn't get a whole bunch of teeth crowned if it's not necessary, but if it's just one or two and think it will be worth it to you for esthetic purposes then go for it.

A mouth of gold teeth would be hot, aye? ;)

It's just one tooth, it pops out and looks funny at times. It's higher up then the others. All my front top teeth go from straight to snaggletooth.

Thanks for letting me know some info on it!

Sometimes I wish my family had better teeth genetics.
