I have been dating, or as he puts it, being the best friend of a man for 5 months. This includes intimacy. He says he feels totally comfortable, loves me, but I'm not his soulmate...I'm not "the one". I love this man totally but the only other relationship I've been in was a 20 year marriage to a selfish alcoholic that I finally got out of. Can this relationship work? Or should I just forget it. I feel like a loser all over again.

TG: Only you can determine if the relationship can work. What is "work". What do you want in a relationship. If sex is all you want, and what you are receiving is satisfactory then it may work. However, get involved with other friends, organizations (churches, civic, employee clubs etc.). You spent 20 years in a bad relationship, spend some time to examine what you really want, and where and how to find it.
