Boyfriend broke up with me, but he still wants to go on our planned trips?

Ex and I texted last night a bit; he had mentioned during our previous 2 hour conversation earlier in the week that he was moving this weekend so I hit him up last night since he was with his best friend and I was going to be with a friend as well. I suggested we all meet up and go bowling, but we wound up getting diverted and it didn't happen.

 

I said I wanted to make sure he was cool about hanging out, and he ended up calling me to say that he wants to chill but his summer courses and work schedule were taking up a lot of time and he's in the middle of a move.

 

He ended up calling me and we spoke for about half an hour or so before he went to bed.

 

Somehow I have a feeling that we will somehow wind up together again. It's going to take a lot of work on my part, but I'm glad I broke NC and we're in the LC zone. Granted, I'm doing 70% of contact initiation but he's not responding unfavorably and he's been the one who has called during most of our longer conversations the past week.

 

I'm basically using the same "method" he used to get me in the first place. It took him 6 months to get me and break down my walls but he said he knew if he persisted he'd get me. I'm doing the same, just modified somewhat since the situation is different this time around.

 

Here's hoping! I know it will take time and we'll need to be friends again first. With him there's no "instantly" whereas my judgment tends to be much quicker and that's what basically caused him to run the first time.

 

His birthday is Thursday so I will give him a call and suggest that we do something this upcoming weekend. No gift or anything like that, though I did win a couple movie theater vouchers this week and I'd like to use one on him when we meet up.
