My ex met a woman in January 2011 and they are getting married this month. I know we were never getting back together, but this news has set me back to ground zero. I mean who does that? Marries someone they've only know 4 months. I'm shocked and at a total loss. He really isn't the man I thought he was.

I would say that he needs to date her for at least a year before he gets engaged let alone jump right into marriage... Look at it as a positive. At least his stupid decision doesn't affect you directly. You will find the perfect person one day and look back at this and laugh. I promise.

I'm sure after the shock wears off I'll get a good laugh out of this situation and thank my lucky stars it's her and not me. This just seems like such a needy and desperate move and I never saw him as either of those things. He's been married before so you'd think he'd be more cautious. It doesn't and shouldn't effect me, but I guess because I still care about him it is. Letting go of him was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

I am in the same situation, but I find it hilarious. My ex left me for another guy, theyre 4 months into their relationship and they got married a few weeks ago. Apparently no ceremony or anything, just hitched.

I know it must feel like they've moved on and they're so happy, but all it shows is that you deserve much better. I don't know about you but my ex is only 20 and she decides to make a life time commitment to the OM? It's silly.

Just imagine how insecure these people must be about themselves to want to be married that early in a relationship. They don't date for a year or two, instead they probably believe marriage so that they feel secure in a relationship? "Now it's a lot harder for them to leave me". Marriage can make a relationship a lot harder.

No matter how much they try to sell it, it's not going to be butterflies and rainbows, and they will probably regret their decision down the road. Just look at it and go "thank god I'm not with him anymore".

Married after knowing each other 4 months... divorced after a year.

Its a setback to you... and that's hard... but when you find out all the problems they are having...and when they divorce you might :lmao: at them, Or by then you might not care so much anymore.

Honestly if I found out my exH was getting married I would be like "I guess he polished his turd for her". I would feel compelled to warn her about him honestly.

That this as a positive news to you.

Reason being: You wouldn't want to marry to a man who is not being committed to you.

my ex fiancée started dating and married he's next gf/then wife (who was also my cousins soon to be wife) with in 8 months of us breaking up... latest news is that they are miserable and he cheated on her... with my best MALE friend lol

Honestly I feel for both of them, I did believe it was a mistake on both their behalves but ultimately its not something that matters to me any more. At the time I was heart broken at the news but with time i realised how sad it was.

its was hilarious, at the time, having drinks with my darling gay friend as he told me about her walking in on them in the act and the ex's excuse being "they were cold and trying to keep warm"

You are better off with out that drama, i cant help but think it all sounds like a jerry springer special though at this point lol :D

Thanks for all of the responses! The shock is slowly wearing off and the absurdness of the situation is sinking in. I'm going to try not to dwell on the situation cause he and how he lives his life no longer has a place in my life. But it will be interesting to see what the happy couple looks like in a few months/years. I've got a feeling misery's in their future and I've got a feeling its gonna make me smile.
