dois20 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Age gap: 5 years I feel like we have a really good connection and it could work out, and she's also single and always telling me how shes looking for a guy, but then always throws in that she won't date anyone my age. And you know what, she does not look or act 5 years older than me, if u saw her you would give us both the same age (early 20s). I don't mind the age gap, why should she? Time to move on or keep on working at it in these circumstances?
BiscuitXOXO Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Move on. For some people age is not an issue. For others, it is. Just because it doesn't matter to you doesn't mean it doesn't matter to her. Be considerate of her feelings and find another woman. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Arabella Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I'm 27 years old, and my boyfriend is 20. We've been together 6 months now. If it makes you feel better, I used to say the same thing, and I eventually gave in. After I got to know him as friends for a while, I realized he was just as mature and relationship worthy as older guys closer to my age, so I changed my mind. There have been age-related obstacles to overcome but overall we are pretty happy in this relationship.

Eeyore79 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 A woman in her late 20s is probably looking for a committed relationship, and she doesn't expect to get it from a man in his early 20s. As a 30-ish woman I wouldn't date a 25yo guy because he's too young to want to marry me; we are at different life stages. Once you get into your late twenties an age gap becomes less important because you're more likely to be at the same life stage.

The older men are, the more they prefer younger females. In other words, you want her because you are in 20s. But, you are going to get older therefore you are going to change your mind about your preferences. When a man is in 30-40s, he typically loses any interest in older females. And, every ugly, fat girl in 20s is the hottest chick for guys in late 30-40s.

I am almost 38, newly single and I find that women around my age and older (say 45) are far more attractive all around than younger women. THey are ready to cut the bull**** out and get right down to communicating and acting like an adult.

He says why go for juvenile immaturity when he has everything he needs in the woman he's marrying? Intellectually, maturity-wise, when you're very young, it shows. at our age? There's absolutely no difference at all.
