Rollercoasterr Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Mathew finally got a job and we made the 8 hour move to Fort Wayne, IN. So far we're loving it here, and it's closer for his parents to come visit us, although I'm not sure they'll come back any time soon since the border gave them such a rough time last week. I'm so glad that we've made the leap from being LDR to being married and now he got the job of his dreams. It's so hard to believe that our one year anniversary is June 26th and it just now feels like we are starting our lives together because we just moved out of moms house. When he first moved down here I thought it would have been stupid to sign a lease when we didn't know where we'd end up and I thought we'd be living with her for a few months--boy, was I wrong!! How is everyone? Any wonderful news I've been missing? :bunny:
zebracolors Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Hiya RC welcome back. :)Glad to hear you two are doing well together in the US. Your experience and wisdom could be great inspiration for us all who are still separated from our beloved SO. And early happy anniversary! Here's to many more great years and experiences for the two of you, cheers!
TMichaels Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Congrats to both of you, RC! Great news that Matthew was able to land a job in this economy -- especially his "dream job." Was good to hear from you and your news -- was wondering how the two of you were getting on... Best wishes for continued success and happiness! TMichaels
Els Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Hey, RC! Long time no see. Glad to hear you're doing awesome!!
aerogurl87 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 That's great news to hear RC! Glad he finally got the job he wanted and you two can finally move out of your mom's place. I'm sure that's a relief after being in a LDR for so long and being newlyweds still.
HeavenOrHell Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Great news! So happy it is working out for you How long after you first met face to face did you move to be together? Author Rollercoasterr Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I really appreciate it. I may not post much anymore, but I do keep up with everyone. HOH-Mathew and I got back together in July of 2008. We didn't meet face to face until November of that year. He proposed in February 2009 and we started our K-1 visa in September. He moved down to the US in May of last year and we got married in June. So it was right at a year and a half after we met face to face that he moved down. As most of you here know, Mathew and I had this on again off again thing for 4 years prior to us finally meeting. We "dated" for a few months while I was in high school and decided that it was too hard since we were so young and we were 1500 miles apart(he lived farther north at that time). We kept in touch over the years and never got over one another. Frequently we would have spurts where we would almost get back together and of course that never happened but 2008 was our lucky year, I guess.
