ZebraPants Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I'm just curious..because society tells women being thin is whats considered attractive. I have always been more on the curvy side. Right now I'm trying to lose 20 pounds since I'm the biggest I have ever been at a size 14. But at the same time I have never had an issue meeting men. I have a great live in boyfriend that loves me for me and I often hit on by other men but I still don't feel attractive because of what the tv and ads tell me that I should be a size 2. My boyfriend likes that I have big boobs and well endowed backside..but at the same time I can't help but wonder if he secretly wants a size 2..
BiscuitXOXO Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 He doesn't. It doesn't matter so much. He loves you for you, not your pant size. There are plenty of men who like bigger women. That being said, attempting to lose weight is great! Healthier lifestyle = more time for life and fewer health problems. But please don't do it because you think men will be more attracted...even if it IS a plus. Do it for yourself. And you are beautiful

If your boyfriend wanted a size 2 he probably would have hit on girls with size 2. Yet he didn't, because he's with you, draw your own conclusions. Most guys like curvy women by the way, a smaller group likes slender women. I'm in the latter group, but I've noticed that most guys these days tend to fall for women that are as curvy as Scarlett Johansson or Kim Kardashian. Also note that guys tend to make a difference between hot women who they think are merely sexually attractive but are not girlfriend material and women who they consider girlfriend material. Women who are girlfriend material are much more to guys than just sexually attractive. So to answer the question in the thread title: "It depends on which guy you ask." My wife goes between a 14 and a 16 and let me tell you, she is WAAAYYYY hotter than any... I mean ANY size 2 could ever hope to be, but that's because I love curvy, voluptuous women. Oh, and SO DOES YOUR MAN!!!!!! Girl, let me tell you, if he didn't like your figure (a plump rump and big breasts) he wouldn't be as attracted to you as you think. Does he "maintain" wood during playtime? There's your answer. Embrace your beauty, real women have curves my wife says. From what you describe you arent the body type to be a size 2 so DO NOT try unhealthy means to lose weight trying. Talk to your man about this (if you haven't already). Have all of his ex's been skinny girls? Are you his first REAL woman (that's what I call 'em). I always get upset when absolutely beautiful women doubt their absolute beauty just because they feel they aren't thin or skinny enough. Besides, what happens if you lose the weight and your booty/boobs go away? If he wanted a skinny gal, he would have picked one. You're beautiful, he thinks so, now stop overthinking it and LOVE YOURSELF AS YOU ARE!!!

Wow, are you that easily influenced by what TV tells you? If you saw an ad that said men like women who ride those old big wheel bicycles would you go buy one?
Professor X Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Wow, are you that easily influenced by what TV tells you? It's funny how what the TV tells you is more important than what your BF tells you. No, actually it's sad.
Author ZebraPants Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 So, what are you? Too fat, too insecure, or both? Wow , some mean people here. Anyway, I don't consider myself "fat". Yes I'm not secure about my weight but I don't think I'm fat. Troll.
hurley21 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I too struggle with this concept. OTHER WOMEN are the one's that pressure us to be a size 2. Not the men. Younger men feed off this idea that they should want model-type women, but generally once they grow up, biologically, they are attracted to women who look like can handle giving birth to their children. Nearly every man I know likes a curvy woman over a stick figure. There are definitely lines between curvy and overweight, but the main point I've seen is that there is a preference for waist to be thinner than the hips. A less extreme version of an hourglass. Even at a size 8, 10, 12 or 14, the curvy shape is the ideal for most.
Rinnix Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 In other threads this has come up, most men had said they prefered the curvier women. Nothing to worry about!

In my personaly opinion and I can probably talk for quite a few people here when I say, size and looks on the outside do not count.. personality is where the real beauty lies within someone, it's better to be ugly and on the bigger side with a great personality, than be really pretty and have a s**t personality and a crap attitude. (Oh and don't take that the wrong way, i'm not trying to imply you're ugly and fat <3 )
Red Arremer Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 "Curvy" is a very misused term as a general rule though, so any time a woman describes herself as curvy I prepare for the worst. There are a lot of people out there that don't know the difference between curves and folds.
