orion1010 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I met my friends fiance's brother Jake last year. I would always go to their softball games and then we would all go out for awhile after. So I got to know him a little bit last year. Then my ex and I got back together and I stopped going and haven't seen him since up until now. We've had 3 dates so far and he's a really nice guy. Says all the right things, not too aggresssive. Very respectful. But so far there are two things I worry about. Problem 1: I'm 29 and he will be 25 in a month. So if it possible to date a guy almost 5 years younger than you? He thought I was 24 or 25. I look really young for my age so I'm always attracting younger men. He says he's looking for a long term relationship and wants someone to come home to. He is sick of dating and ready to settle down. Problem 2: He was out with his brother and friends last night in their bowling league. He started texting me to say hi. He noticed the crazy guy Ryan (whom ive mentioned in my other thread) posted on my status asking me to come over on friday. I haven't seen this guy since I've told you about him and have no intentions to. I'm trying to ease out of this weird situation with ryan b/c he recently told me before i tried to go NC that he really likes me and he has herpes. I didn't want to see like a bitch and just write him off so I am trying to go NC but if he starts IMing me to say hi, i will keep it to a quick and polite. I don't want him to think I don't want to talk with him anymore b/c of the herpes, but it's really b/c of the way he acted during our dates. So the REAL problem here is that Jake texted me after he saw Ryan comment of my status asking me to come over friday. the text read "Tell that Ryan guy on your facebook, HANDS OFF". I was told by my friend that Jake might have a little issue with trust because his ex of 2 years cheated on him. Then he text me telling me he really misses me and wishes he was with me. Then we said goodnight. Is this too soon for someone to notice your facebook and text you to tell you to make sure the guy keeps his hands off? Also, is the age thing really that big of a deal? Thanks is advance for your input
Author orion1010 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 You're an old grandma and he's a hot young stallion. What were you thinking? How could you even relate? What would you even have in common? When he was just beginning puberty you were already graduating. He's more like your kid brother than your man. This relationship is sick. It goes against the very laws of nature. By now you should realize I'm overselling it and just feeding into your own doubts and self-pity. I always give the ladies what they really want. There was nothing wrong with the relationship but if you are uncomfortable then you should split. You'll never get over not feeling right for him. HAHA.. the old grandma part made me laugh. thanks! It's something I could get over if he's for real and only time will tell. I like how polite, sweet, and respectufl he is so I will run with it in terms of age. It's a wait and see thing I guess. The jealousy thing I thought was a little soon though. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I was thinking if he feels comfortable saying that now.. how will he be later? like i said. i could be reading too much into it.
BiscuitXOXO Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Age thing makes no difference to me. But that's a personal belief; if it bothers YOU, then you shouldn't date the guy. He could be just joking when he says "hands off!"... in a teasing, testing the waters kind of way.

Any ladies have any experience in dating a younger guy? How did it turn out? What were the major issues in the relationship?
BiscuitXOXO Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I'm only 18 so I haven't had much experience. However, I have found a 15 y.o. and 16 y.o. cute before. The 15 y.o. thought I was around his age or younger.. When I told him my age he was...taken aback ahahahaha. My experiences weren't serious though. Just general flirting and having fun. *bumps thread*
