mr.dream merchant Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 my ex that is. Had to travel 15 miles to grab some study material from a fellow classmate, figured to hit the gym while I'm out there. After leaving the gym, I spotted a Super Walmart right around the corner and decided to run in there very quick (didn't change my gym attire which was shorts and a black wifebeater) and grab some multivitamins, etc. Many of you are aware of my physique, so imagine that with the gym pump in it. I'm pushing the cart around looking for things, then notice a short woman checking me out. I looked up to see how she was looking, we locked eyes for what seemed a lifetime, then she made this kind of face. It was my ex. I gave her this surprised smirk/ "look at me now." smile and laughed. She moved out of the way and let me into the aisle I was trying to get into, then while my back was turned to her I could feel her eyes on me. Then I heard her voice call out "MOM! HURRY UP!" You could hear the frustration in her voice. Been 2 long years since I last heard her voice or saw her. Last time she saw me I was broke, out of shape, and overall just not in a good place in life. I bet her mind is running at a millions miles a second right now. :/ Laughed on the drive, all the way home.
sanskrit Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Seems like her mind is not the only one running at a million miles a minute J/K grats on having a satisfying "look at me now ex" encounter.

You earned where you are and have a right to be proud (and a little vengeful).
lino Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I enjoy it when these sort of things happen. I had an experience kind of similar to this happen to me recently.
alethean Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) It was my ex. I gave her this surprised smirk/ "look at me now." smile and laughed. Lol. Why, oh why was I reminded of this song? Anyway, glad you had your moment. Edited May 1, 2011 by alethean
Author mr.dream merchant Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 Heh, that's honestly how I felt. Just the way it played out was perfect lol. Strolling through Walmart in a black wife beater pushing a cart looking for stuff, looking down into my cart, out of my peripheral see a curvy short woman checking me out, I look up and we catch eyes for a while, then I finally realize it's her and I could see it in her eyes and face that she realized who I was. Hahahaha. Look at me now! That's gotta suck, to see your ex looking 3 times better than when you left them. The best part was I've changed so much physically that her mother (who was just to my left while I was looking for deodorant) didn't even know it was me because she surely would've said something to me. Aaaaaah. :/
lovingADove Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 In life, one needs to learn to be bigger than that. I don't know what went on between both of ya, but .. you moved on, she moved on ... and life goes on.
Author mr.dream merchant Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 True. It was definitely a very surreal moment. The love of my life who walked out on me two years ago standing right there in front of me, holding my gaze for what seemed like a life time. Though no words shared (I actually did want to have a cheerful conversation with her) it was if we spoke to each other through our eyes. Through her surprised and impressed look, it wasn't hard to tell she was still hurt. I wasn't exactly the best boyfriend. She could probably see the questioning in my eyes. The why's, who's, how come's..etc. It was clear that we both had questions, both had a million flashbacks, intense feelings of shock, pain and pleasure..all in those 5 seconds. But through our locked eyes, we somehow communicated that it was best to leave that chapter of our lives closed and share no words. People have asked me if I'm upset we didn't speak and I say not at all. We did speak, through body language. Me standing there before her in the best shape of my life ever was my way of saying "Hey brown eyes it's been a while, but I'm doin' alright."
