Hello everyone,

Once again I would appreciate comments of LS community. It is not a big issue really... I have been dating a guy for about 2 months, have known him for a few years, and everything is going great.

Recently he started to mock lovers. For example, when we go out and see a couple sharing a kiss, or when we talk about friends or relatives in relationships, he would randomly say something like "yeah, that is true love" blah blah. But he does it with this specific tone in his voice... I mean he is clearly mocking them/love/the relationship.

Any thoughts?

He could be thinking YOU find it funny....he could be jaded...he could be trying to convince himself he doesn't believe in love...he could NOT believe in love...there are so many possibilities Greenwood.

Ask him what's up with the comments.

Thanks cerridwen. Haven't thought about that.

Seems more likely he's mocking the public thing.

And he's right, when a couple doesn't get a room but decides to share their kisses and hugs with the world and random people around them then those people have the right to mock them for it.

Thanks Jynxx. Although I completely agree with what you say, he is definitely not mocking the public thing.

The other day we were at his place, talking about a mutual friend who got engaged recently. He said a few things again with a tone in his voice.

I actually think either he is simply disillusioned and doesn't believe in love (went through divorce 2 years ago), or, he is trying to test me, being curious about my view on love, "the one", "soulmates" etc (he talks about these things too). But maybe I just think too much about it.

He sounds like a bitter dude who can't get a woman, except, he does have one.

Insecurity?

I had a bf once who blasted pregnant women all the time. He would go on and on about how gross they were and they only got pregnant to get attention.

Well, his wife is pregnant now...wonder how he changed his tune.

Yes. At least the more greenwood talks about it.

OP, you're not over-thinking things IMO.

It would strike me as odd too.

My ex did the same thing and I personally think it's red flag behavior. He turned out to be a totally emotionally unavailable guy.
