If the dates got further, I would start being myself more. I starting reading online dating advice, and realized what a mistake that was. You have to be yourself, or more like "the best version of yourself" from the beginning. What are some mistakes you guys have made/make?

I admit I used to have this mentality as well before and I acted like a 'doormat'. But you guys need to realize that since you are the one making the plan and paying for it, you are actually the one doing the favor. The woman should be the one trying to return the favor instead of you trying to do even more favors for her.

The guy I'm with now cringes when I tell him I didn't realize our first two outings were actually dates. Which is why I was assuming we were sticking each other in the friend's zone and got confused when he insisted on paying. We're together now but he says he felt like such a reject.
