david king Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Okay, so to cut to the chase there is this girl who has caught my eye. Earlier, we have seen each other around the gym a few times and make a lot of eye contact and long smiles. And then at other points I will be out running/ riding my bike and I will pass her on the path sometimes as she is out running as well and we do the eye contact and long contact then as well. As I said, this was the stuff that happened over the last few weeks and then on Monday this week at the gym, we kept looking at other, and giving big smiles to one other. And then today at the gym, I used one of the water fountains after her, and said excuse me to her as I stepped up and she got a really big smile on her face, and started giggling. A bit later we made eye contact some more and then I made my way over to her, said hi, and started a really good conversation. She was really fun and interesing to talk to and had a big smile on her face most of the time, and did a good amount of laughing/ giggling. After a bit of time, I went off to do other workouts but then later as she was leaving the gym we happened to meet up in the doorway (I was on my way in the room, she was going out) and she had a big smile again, blushed and started giggling, and looked down. Having been through this, I must say that i do feel good about this situation and next time, after some more talking, I plan to ask her out. (Since coffee is a bit on the generic side and since we both pretty active, I thought I would suggest going for a run or bike ride and then getting some lunch.) I must admit that another factor involved in that I am big sports fan and I have been watching a lot of NBA playoffs and one thing that really stands out to me is how well they play in the last minute of a close game, the resolve the players have, and it occured to me that I can have the same sort of attitude in this situation, as far as talking and asking her out. It sure beats any alternative such as looking back in, oh, ten years and really wishing I asked her out.
Irishlove Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 The most important thing to do after a work out is what you eat so why don't you ask if she would like to go get some grilled chicken and veggies somewhere. Just go for it.
Author david king Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Hi, so some good news! We talked today at the gym and when she was leaving, I told her we should go out some time, and she said she would like that. So, next weekend after finals are over (we are in college and it is last week of class now and next week is finals week) we going to go for late afternoon bike ride and get late lunch. I have taken a lot of my friends on this same bike ride and (even some who have moved to other states still talk about how much they liked it and when they come back for visits we take the ride) so I think she will enjoy that ride. The restrurant we are going to is very popular as well. I must say that I am pretty happy about this, both because even as at this earlier point she seems like great girl and we get along really well and I know I am going to have very enjoyable time with her and because I made up my mind to ask her out and I followed through.
