Author OpenBook
pfft their wedding will be nothing compared to the King and Queen of LS getting married in June. There's another royal couple getting married?? "LS" - what country is that? Just jivin'. Congratulations on your impending nuptials - and TaraMaiden's too! :bunny::bunny: I wonder how many upcoming brides were watching William & Kate's wedding to get some tips? I kinda liked the maple trees in Westminster Abbey, that was a nice touch.
Ross MwcFan
Hey you Haven´t been around much but had to post for this marvelous wedding. So many people went to participate! It was awesome! They all looked so happy and had flags and costumes and all sorts of things! Everything seemed so organized. The bride and groom looked spectacular, so romantic! She must have been the happiest woman on earth!!! I promised myself I wouldn't watch it, just thought the idea of watching it was pretty girly, and that it would've been boring. But I did end up watching quite a lot of it, and I'm embarrassed to say I liked it quite a lot. I think my favorite part was when they both drove off in the Aston Martin, with William driving, it was pretty cool. It just made them look really normal and down to Earth. Tayla
Thank you OpenBook for this thread. Watched the event with awe and respect for the couple. History in the making is something so few can grasp in that moment, yet we can look back upon and realize in some small way , we were there in mind, spirit or whatnot. The ceremony was lovely and civil. They are in essences two adults sharing with the world, titles aside they have a genuine chance of making a go of the marital vows. Its my hope that they can endure the public scrutiny and ignore the nah sayers. As a romantic admirer I think they are the real thing. Kate looked ever the stunning bride! I heard they are planning to live in their own place far away from Buckingham Palace and the limelight, and won't have any servants in their house. Good for them. And kudos to all their family members and the people of England in general, having learned the hard way through the Diana years, for being smart about it this time around and supporting them in seeking at least some modicum of private life. Citizen Erased
Bet Harry hits up the hot sister of HRH. Best part - Princess B's antlers. Worst part - dumb looking trees. Yeah yeah, they're going to be planted at Highgrove and blah blah blah. And what the heck was Ian Thorpe doing there? He's meant to be training for the olympics and the damn Poms are distracting him. I thought they all looked lovely.
Ross MwcFan
I thought the trees in the Abbey looked a bit wrong too. Everyone's going to be copying that now.
sunshinegirl
I'm not a particular fan of British royalty, but I do recall seeing Charles & Diana's wedding; I have a searing memory of hearing news of Diana's death; and having gotten married recently, I was interested to see what choices Will & Kate made. We DVR'ed it and I got up early to make scones (w/ jam & clotted cream which I had to find at a specialty store) and English breakfast tea. That was enough to get my husband out of bed to watch with me. It kind of amazes me to think about Kate's life changing so dramatically, and permanently from now on...her fate is basically sealed, for better or for worse. I'm interested to know how much Pippa's life will change. I heard she's going to be Kate's "lady-in-waiting" or something like that, on what sounded like a permanent basis. So basically Pippa is going to have a royal life as well.
Taramere
Best part - Princess B's antlers. Just as well Princess Diana's nieces the three Ladies Spencer were present to add a touch of sex appeal to the Royal pews. http://www.vancouversun.com/best+hits+royal+wedding+fashion/4700834/story.html?tab=PHOT
TaraMaiden
which is more than can be said for this pair.... http://www.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_606w/WashingtonPost/Content/Production/Blogs/royal-wedding-watch/Images/GYI0064506468.jpg?uuid=2oj6JnJjEeC8iro3dH7cpQ

She's even perfected the deer-trapped-in-headlights expression to go with them.
Author OpenBook
What the HAYELL wuzzAT??? I missed that fiasco in the TV footage. But I do like her tan coat.
johan
I'm guessing they are gasping together in a sweaty embrace as I type this. He's probably had her from behind several times by now, and there was no mention of condoms. All her pretty hair is probably in a complete tangle.

I'm still smarting from the disappointment that the people were deprived of that spectacle during yesterday's balcony moment.
Woggle
I must admit I actually watched a good part of it though I will never tell my male friends that and for some reason I do think they are for real. I don't see the point of royalty but they seem like good people. I hope they make it and that the media leaves them alone. I hope the paparazzi doesn't drive them insane. One thing I have to ask is what was up with some of the hats? I saw people wearing things even Lady Gaga wouldn't wear.

It just made them look really normal and down to Earth. That was my mother´s favourite part too. She liked the fact that he was driving the car and I liked the balloons. A true prince charming in red. Awww... like in the fairytales. I loved Charles and Camilla together too. Edited April 30, 2011 by Ariadne

How anyone could want to abolish such great role models for Britain and the rest of the world is beyond me.

whichwayisup
I loved Charles and Camilla together too. Eww. I think she looks like a cross between a cow and a horse. She is ungraceful too. And haggish. Sorry that I'm so blunt about her! Why were Fergie and Andy's daughters dressed like second class citizens? Those girls are gorgeous and those outfits looked awful. I didn't watch any of the wedding live, just seen bits and pieces on TV since yesterday.
Author OpenBook
Eww. I think she looks like a cross between a cow and a horse. She is ungraceful too. And haggish. Sorry that I'm so blunt about her! She really is so... GOOFY-looking. But I gotta hand it to her - she stole the heart of (and finally landed) a Prince - and she makes him happy. And before that, she used to be married to a very handsome man. She always landed the best of 'em. Don't know what it is about her. But she is a living testament to "Looks Don't Matter" in success with the opposite sex. All the kids love her and accepted her warmly into the family when she married Charles. And I saw her picking up one of the little bridesmaids during the Balcony Scene on Friday so the little girl could see over the railing. It will be interesting to see what happens to her when Prince Charles ascends the throne. I think it would be appropriate for her to be known as the "King's Consort" much like Prince Philip is with Queen Elizabeth.
