PhillyDude Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I have decided when trying out a new site I will create a profile with my pic and only send smiles to the women I'm attracted to from browsing. I will only purchase a membership if a women responds to one of my smiles I sent which would then be a regular email since I would have a membership. No more throwing $29 or $39 down the drain by purchasing a membership for 30 days and then during that 30 days I get no respones from women I'm interested in online. So to me it's better to wait and see what happens first before buying a membership. Just like if I was unemployed, i'm not going to go out and get a new suit and no jobs are calling back to schedule a interview. BTW: a women WILL respond to a flirt from a guy if she is attracted to him which is why this new approach makes more sense. I highly recommend this approach to any guy
Author PhillyDude Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 Why not use a free online dating site? I do use free dating sites but sometimes I like to see what the pay site has to offer. In the past I been just paying money without putting the site to test
NoMagicBullet Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Makes sense. I've considered doing that, but have heard too many horror stories of how "Customer Service" suddenly disappears when you try to cancel before they charge your credit card afte rthe free trial. But then I've heardthat you can look at some sites, just can't contact anyone unless you pay. Either way, let us know how it goes -- not just if you meet people, but also how much of a pain these sites were to use.
alexlakeman Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Guy A reads the woman's profile and emails her about something specific in her profile. Guy B just winks at women.. Women get a lot of winks and emails, for that matter.. Guess who's likely to get a response? Yes, some women do respond to winks, but you have a better chance with a personalized email.. If you are going 30 days without an email response, nor phone #'s, then you are doing something wrong..

miss_28 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 makes sense if it's a paying site, but if it's a free site, I'd send a message. I was getting a lot of "so and so would like to meet you" on POF, to which I would respond - but I caught on quick that often times the guys would not even remember that they sent you a "wink" because they've sent out 20 other winks. I felt kinda crappy when I realized that I was just part of a "batch wink". I now don't respond to anyone, even if he's cute or funny, unless he sends some kind of message, even if it's a short line.
Crazy Magnet Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I never even bothered to look at who "winked" or "smiled" at me or whatever. I got too many messages, and good messages at that, to have time. The amount of winks a girl gets is astronomically ridiculous. This sounds like a terrible strategy to me.

Not if the other guys sending winks are not attractive.
Johnny85 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Not if the other guys sending winks are not attractive. Philly, look @ my profile in the other thread. I tried your method (although on a free site) and it didn't work very well!

You defeated the purpose of being on a free site-lol Why would you send a regular email if the site was free? In my case I sent a wink on a paysite because I was trying to save money
Crazy Magnet Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Not if the other guys sending winks are not attractive. You assume they look at the winks.
Author PhillyDude Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 You assume they look at the winks. Everyone is curious when they get a new message whether it's a man or woman. Then when you check it and see it's a flirt/wink, you check to see if they attractive.

Then when you check it and see it's a flirt/wink, you check to see if they attractive. We always check who is sending us the wink. But, I know quite a few women wouldn't reply. As said above, there are many men who send multiple winks to a multitude of women. If the guy was lucky, id maybe give him a wink back. If he didn't respond showing any interest about me or my profile, he wouldn't get a reply back. Many people don't appreciate just being one of many.

Rinnix Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 It still comes down to mutual attraction and even if a guy does send a regular email if he is unattractive he won't get a reply It depends what most people define as unattractive. I'm not attracted to what most women are. I'm not attracted to over muscular men, or the "pretty boy" face, and I don't need a man to look mysterious in order for him to be attractive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. If he has a good character, he may just get the benefit of the doubt. Unless the woman is just completely shallow. If this is the case, it's time to change your type of women.
