Orange_Rush Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 So, I have an interesting situation and want some advice on how to move on to the next step. One of my good friends (a guy) shares an apartment with one of his girlfriend's really good friends. Well, he decided to set us up to hang out a little and we hit it off and have progressed since then. The problem is that neither of us have really dated much. I am informed that she has never had a boyfriend and my last relationship was when I was a sophomore in high school, which lasted about three weeks so that tells you how far that one went. We are both getting ready to graduate from college so that gives you an idea of how long. Anyway back to the story. We knew that it was going to be hard to get her to go on a date so we planned an evening for all of us to go to dinner and then my friend and his girlfriend backed out at the last minute leaving just the two of us. Things went really well and we have been out several times over the past month (probably around 10 so far). We really haven't done much yet though. We have gone to dinner several times and have been to her apartment to watch movies together. So far we mostly just make extended periods of eye contact, which in my opinion show our interest in each other. We have held hands and I have also put my arm around her while watching movies and she has laid across my chest. We have made a lot of body contact, but it hasn't gotten much further than that. I really want to move in for a kiss, but she hasn't allowed the moment to happen yet. I'm about 99% sure that she wouldn't object to it, but our inexperience is hindering us (in my opinion). I was thinking about trying something like taking her miniature golfing and trying to make it intersting by betting a kiss on a hole-in-one or something like that. Is this a good idea? Or is there anyone with a good suggestion to help us get over this obstacle. I think once we get past this point things will only get easier. Also, do you think it is too early in our relationship for me to buy her some sort of gift? If not what would you suggest?
thatone Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) I was thinking about trying something like taking her miniature golfing and trying to make it intersting by betting a kiss on a hole-in-one or something like that. Is this a good idea? that's actually a really good idea. good thinking. making a game of a difficult request/situation is a pretty good general purpose tool to get what you want. taking it a step further, imagine the possibilities of doing the same thing with something you don't really want that much in the future and letting her win. Also, do you think it is too early in our relationship for me to buy her some sort of gift? If not what would you suggest? it's never too early for that. women enjoying telling their friends about something they got as a gift is universal. don't go overboard with expensive obviously suggestive things (like jewelry), keep it simple. you should know something that she needs or wants after being around her for a few dates. something more functional, that she mentioned wanting. maybe an ipod or a netbook or something related to a hobby she likes. key point being: something her friends will see and ask "when/where did you get that?"
