Strength of Heart Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Yesterday, out of the blue, I got a text from my ex around 6:30 that said "hi..." Later that night while I was at the movies with my friends, I got a text from her saying "I just want to be honest. yea I'm drunbk right now but I miss you more than anything." followed up by "Can I call you?" I turned my phone off, because not only was I watching a movie at a theater, but I figured this wasn't worth breaking NC. I started NC a about five days ago when she was being a real bitch, I simply didn't respond to a text she had sent that seemed rather harsh. Thoughts?
aypforever Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 The ex will likely be glad you didn't respond. She will likely feel like an idiot for saying those things though. You made the right choice.
TaraMaiden Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Drunk texts lack respect, dignity or honesty. She texted you - because she could. Carry on with NC (Drunk people really should have their phones confiscated.....)
Trovador Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 They say drunks and children speak the truth... Just saying...
TaraMaiden Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 "miss you more than anything" doesn't mean, "I want you back". She's just looking for the boy on the backburner, because it's sooooo convenient....

I have also heard her say "I want to be with you more than anything, but im too scared of a relationship." Sorry ass excuses...
stephmichelle Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I get drunk texts too - I ignore them. I think it's because at the end of the night after drinking, they get lonely and it would validate them if we texted back with something because then it looks like we miss them (even if we do!). They just want to make themselves feel better at that moment - if it was about making us feel better, they would text during the day. It's selfish
