Let's say you find your ideal woman (physically), if we make her tall (6 feet) and we make her short (5'2), does this change how you see her?

Basically, does being too tall or too short affect your attraction to a woman? (This excludes men who prefer tall women or short women. This is more a question for men who don't have a specific preference in height).

Posted

Nope. For me, the attraction level would remain neutral for either scenario.

Maybe short should be like 4'11'', because I am 5'4'', which is a pretty average height...I think. 5'2'' doesn't seem too short at all. :o

I don't date girls taller than me (6'0"+). Not because I don't like dating taller women, but because they don't seem to like dating me. I seem to get the "taller than thou" treatment in those cases (e.g. "I can't wear heels around you!," etc.)

I wouldn't mind dating a girl who was 4'11" as long as she looked mature for her age and didn't look like she was 12.

I'm 6'1" and I prefer women shorter than me or equally as tall as me, that doesn't mean I would never consider dating a taller girl/woman though, but I just prefer shorter.

So in your example, there would be no difference to me in either case, because in both cases she'd be shorter than me.

And if you take offense at a 6 ft woman towering over you in heels, I would think you have an inferiority complex

I think most men don't care for height so much as proportions. If it looks right, feels right, then it's alright.

As a six foot tall woman, I have definitely had men both attracted to me at least in part because of my height, and other men who explicitly rejected me because of it. It is what it is.

A couple of the most laughable come-on lines I can recall off the top of my head: "I want to climb you like a tree," or "You can be my Mt. Everest." Plus all the guys who call me "Amazon," like I never heard that one before. I like it when my husband calls me that, though :D.

You're not understanding what I said. I would have no problem if a woman was taller than me in heels. I'd also consider dating the same girl if she was taller than me. HOWEVER, aesthetically I prefer girls that are shorter.

I think about it the same way, but my point is that I do have aesthetic preferences. Inferiority has nothing to do with it.

Does that mean that if a woman wants a man who towers over her, she has a superiority complex?

I am 5 ft tall.....or rather short. But I find that men don't find girls shorter than 5'2 very attractive.

Tall women are more likely to have nice legs. And for me that's a plus. But I honestly don't want to date someone who is taller than me. Preferably not even in heels, but I can compromise on that.

I understood what you said, but I couldn't help taking a jibe at you since your first post really could've been interpreted the way I said. And I was joking but I guess the smiley didn't help much. :o

It does happen.

Really? Guess it might just be your area....or online dating.

I love women at your height. And most of the men in my city do, also.

Well in that case you actually did me a favor by having me elaborate on my first post. :bunny:

Hmm yeah maybe it is a culture thing. Guys here like model like height and like the above poster said, there is something sexy about long legs which short women don't possess.

Leggy women are very attractive. Im 5'11 and my dream woman is a woman who is 5'7 or 5'8.

Posted

As a guy who's 5'6, my preference is for a woman is between 5' and 5'8.

Things are awkward when a girl is much shorter than me, and I don't like women towering over me. Most women want a guy to be taller than her so the latter isn't much of a problem.

Hmmm most guys I know have no problem at all with shorter women. I'm 5'2".

I love being 5'2" because the height of a guy is NEVER an issue. I've liked guys from 5'6" to 6'2" (granted this was mostly years ago).

I've only ever come across one guy who said that he didn't like 'short' women and a few months later, he ended up dating a woman who was under 5ft.

For whatever reason, the majority of my female friends are short, like 5'2"-4'11". It has been commented on (by them) that when we're out in a group, it looks like I'm taking them on a field trip . None of them ever had any trouble getting men, and while some guys have passed them over for me, some guys have passed me over for them in turn, and who knows if height had much to do with it? There are plenty of men who like petite, or compact, just fine--and IME a pretty big subset of guys who feel more masculine when they can twirl a girl around (a lot harder to do when she's 6 ft).

I've also only personally known one guy who said he didn't like short women--but he's married to me, so I guess he meant it.

I dont like women who are short of Megan Fox.

But that doesnt mean I would rather be alone if I cant get anyone with any resemblance of her.

haahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha oh boy...hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaahh oh my goodness, I fell off my bed laughing on this one. Hehe I just told my friend about it. He laughed so hard too! Oh anyways, weren't there rumors that she's actually a man? Oh well.

I had a friend who is 4'11'' who ended up getting married and moving far away to New Zealand.:(

Guys would trip all over themselves to try to get a date with her, it was hilarious!

Why is it so funny?

Its the truth. Every man wants a hot woman. But that doesnt mean all men would rather die alone if they cant get one.

And that's the funny thing about these guys. They claim that only 20% of men get sex, that all women are shallow, that all that women want is money, but when you ask of them, to tell you what type of woman they like, instead of pointing their finger at an average jane(as average as them), they point it at Megan Fox/Angelina Jolie and say they honestly believe that such women are average.

Such lovely cognitive dissonance!

Mr Cairo, I think you are one of the finest man on here. That is SO accurate! That's what I've been trying to tell these men but I don't know where their head is...
