My OH has asked me to give my details so that he can get a Ipad on credit because he says the address he lives at is black listed!

I have never heard of an address being black listed, only the person. So I presume he is black listed for credit for some reason he doesnt want to say, so is saying its the address.

I have only know him for 8 months, and still am finding out things about him, some good some bad.

I've never been one to get things on credit anyways, and not sure about this.

What do you guys think please?

OH means overseas husband? Or something else?

An i-pad is a luxury item, a very expensive luxury item. It is fine if you can afford these things but if you have to buy it on credit than that is really your first clue you should not be buying it at all.

If this guy is blacklisted because his credit is so poor, I really cannot see the wisdom in having him buy a very expensive item that is just for "fun".

OH=other half?

I'd be very wary, you've not known him long and some of what you know about him isn't good, I wouldn't give my details out to him.

Install good virus protection on your computer, use condoms & don't give other people access to your credit. Would you buy it for him as a gift? If not, don't let him, or anyone, use your credit, not even family.

Thanks for your replies. I asked him direct saying that its not an address that gets black listed , so it must be him. He said, he did have problems years ago with paying back credit cards, so it must be that!!!!!!!!

I will not be getting this for him.

Forget about his bad credit. The fact that he lied to you about why he needed your details, and what he might have done with your details is disturbing and a HUGE red flag. It's very possible that he could have opened credit cards with you as co-signer. When he defaulted on them, you'd be stuck holding the bag.

This guy sounds like a scammer.

If you can't afford an iPad, you shouldn't get an iPad. They're completely unnecessary.

He should work on restoring his credit through low cost credit card usage, specifically requesting any credit card company that would have him not to increase his limit beyond $500.
