So, does everyone who ends a relationship suffer from G.I.G.S?

I just notice this is an occuring trend lately and I am kind of surprised. Yes, people definitely end relationships sometimes because they think things are going to be better elsewhere, and sometimes they are right.

I can think of plenty of times I was heartbroken over the ending of a relationship, but they were right. They were so right. There was better for both of us out there.

I think people do a dis-service to themselves though to so quickly assume a breakup occured because of G.I.G.S or what have you. Sometimes people are just not compatible and one partner realizes that before the other one, that does not mean the dumper should be vilified nor does it mean anything is wrong with the dumpee.

I have just noticed "trends" so to speak that have emerged over the course of time on this board and the current one seems to be "g.i.g.s".

Haha I myself am guilty of using GIGS to refer to my situation, and yes, it must certainly be a trend on the boards, because whenever I was posting here the last time, it hadn't be created or posted yet by homebrew.

I mean of course in any breakup, clearly someone wants to leave because they think it will be better that way. So every single breakup in the history of the world was probably because the grass seemed greener for some reason or another.

But it does kinda refer specifically to where the dumper can't pinpoint a reason, they just wanna do other stuff with their time, they have this itch under their skin that there must be something better out there. I'd say that's the key to saying something is GIGS, when they think they're missing "something" or there must be "something" better out there, but they don't really know what it is or why they have that feeling.
