I used to want to date older men but then i a woman told me that

their penises don't stay erect as long as they used to

they don't have as much stamina and endurance as they did in their prime

may have to resort to using sex toys to compensate for not being able to stay hard--nothing is as good as the real thing

may need to use a penis pump--major mood killer

rely on viagra

become cranky as they get older

set in their ways

Stereotyping.

Is sex is the only thing that drives you to get close to someone?

Some females enjoy the company of older men. This is not because of their 'Penis'. It is because of their psychological satisfaction. They enjoy their time with them and the bed activity is of lesser importance (though it has importance). Go for it and test it out yourself if you are one of them. Don't stop your feelings because of somenone's advice. So what if he relies on viagra. If you like your time with him, and he can satisfy your needs, then have your happy time with him. ;)

what exactly do you mean by 'old' in terms of age ?

IMHO... comparing myself now to when I was younger, I don't have the same stamina or raw physical ability. Back then I had 6pak abs and was in the Olympic tryouts. My ability hasn't dropped off that much... I'm still in good shape, but I do struggle when the sex hits more than twice a day. My refractory period is longer as well. It used to be non existent.

Despite that... I honestly believe that I'm better in bed now for two reasons. First I'm more experienced and I have learned how awesome foreplay is... Also I'm way better at the out of the bedroom stuff. Just being a more masculine presence and bringing the romance makes the sex so much better that you can't understand until you have had it.

I used to think just raw animal attraction was the most awesome... It really doesn't compare.

So you're saying that as men get older, they get. . . older? How is any of this news?

Or are you claiming that every man over the age of 30 needs a 'penis pump' to achieve an erection?

Spend more time at the gym. It'll keep your hormone levels high.

I'm 28 in a few months, and I cannot really tell any difference between now and when I was 20. Everything still works the same. Hopefully it'll still be the same in another decade...

When I was a teenager, my boyfriends (early 20s) constant erection turned me off so much... Now I am dating an "older" man (older as in 30+), and I love the fact that he is so caring and experienced in bed, loves to satisfy me and prefers quality over quantity.

Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you this is not the case.

Men 60+, maybe.

i'm 30+ and my gear seems to work the same as it did 10yrs ago. perhaps some of the men being referenced in your OP just don't take care of their bodies.

Some of this may be true if a girl just wants to get slammed in bed. I will tell you that as a man of 30 compared to a man of 20 there is NOOOOOO way he can do what I can. When I was 20 all I was thinking of was "hitting it' and although I still do think of that lol, there is a lot more to pleasing a woman than that!!!!

My primary goal (I love it too) is to make a woman shake when she gets "there"........That is the biggest turn on to me...I just looooove that!!!!!

Haaaaaaa! 30+ Okay. Whatever.

Pretty much what Poorguy said, but from a female perspective- guys reach a certain age and they turn phenomenal in bed. Like to the point where I want to ask him for a list of every girl he's ever slept with so I can add them all to my Christmas card list. :D In my experience, about 37 or 38, and something clicks and they know exactly what they're doing.

And there's a big difference between being "set in their ways" and knowing who they are. My older boys are content with themselves. The younger ones- it's like they're still trying to find out who they are. They're still trying to make their career, they're still trying to become something, and they often use the phrase, "I want to..." As in, "I want to be a father" or "I want to own my own business." The older guys use the phrase "I am". As in, "I am a good father" or "I am a small business owner." That's not being set in your ways- it's being a mature, self-confident, self-sufficient person.

If you look at any category of people and take only the negatives they will always look bad. Older men have a lot of positives too-- more experienced, more mature, more knowledgeable about women, more money/ability to do fun and interesting (expensive) things, more interesting to talk to, etc.

The important thing to remember is that whenever you're talking about who you're going to date it's a package deal. It's not like you can get a man who is a whole list of things that you want and then he is also either older or younger. You can't find an older man that you have chemistry with, who is all the positive things I put above, and then say, “I want a man who has all these positives but is also young.” That man may not be available, he may not exist, or if he does exist he may not want to be with you but would himself prefer an even younger woman.

It is best to look at each person as a package deal with their own positives and negatives. In particular, decide how you feel about a person. If you feel attracted, don't necessarily hold back because you think to yourself that this person somehow doesn't meet your standards of whatever. You will never get everything you want.

It is your choice who to date. But, you are only limiting yourself if you cut large segments of the available population out of consideration.

The woman who told you this is just trying to keep the experienced men for herself. ;)

Sssshhhh! Oaks, you're going to ruin it for the rest of us!

I mean ah, Oaks is lying. My bf is 40+ and he ah, isn't the best most experienced lover I ever had. Huhu. Better date 20 year old men for the rest of your life.

All joking aside. Your friend is wrong. I've been with 2 40+ men and they didn't struggle to maintain an erection, they had more control and well, more experience.

But that's just my personal experience. Perhaps you should live your own life and find out for yourself - instead of believing what you friend or we the people of LS have to say. (Or turn into the ultimate Cougar once you get older). The bottom line is, every guy is different.

Poorguy nailed it with his first post. I also want to say that I married at 20, and 10yrs later I'm single again. After spending 10yrs learning 1 womans body, I was a little worried that I had to start all over with women and lovemaking.

I realized pretty fast that I learned much more than I thought. Being 30 is great

I just realized this thread is a response to another thread about a man wanting to date younger women.

You're a rarity my friend. I'm 28 as well.

I'm very active, very athletic....from age 20-24 I was in the best shape of my life. Once I hit 25, 2 years in the working world, I developed bad patellar tendonitis in both knees and had double knee surgery, gained about 40 lbs, and I'm just now (3 years later) starting to lose it. I get sore after running and sports, my lower back hurts from sitting too long at a desk, and I can no longer bear the hangovers that I used to recover from in 24 hours as I still feel effects 3-5 days later.

At 28, feel lucky that you feel as great as you do. I know many others worse off than I am.

I think you're the one with the short end of the stick here... I'm 28 (but a girl) and I feel just as good as when I was 20. Not is as good shape, but that's purely cause I'm lazy and stopped doing any kind of sport a few year ago.

Hangovers are tougher, but I still get over them in less than 24h. They just hit me harder.

Nothing hurts, and I just feel great!

Anyway, as for the topic of this thread... LOL. Men over 60 may suffer from those problems, which are not exactly news to anyone, I don't think. But men over 30? Point them my way, please!

I've always dated slightly older men. But as you get older (as in, when you're not 20 anymore and start moving towards 30) there's a whole new pool of younger guys to choose from as well... Well, I did and it was always disapointing. They either had no clue what they were doing or weren't worried about me at all.

Most older guys though just had more experience and that made for a much better... experience!

set in their ways

My Hubby is older than me by 11 years and I would say that the highlighted parts are true, within my circumstance. I find this mostly funny as he is cute when he gets cranky.

I think he has always been set in his ways though and in some respects it is good because I know when he is feeling anxious about something.

I am off the chart when it comes to being spontaneous. I think I would only have a problem with his being set in his ways if he tried to change me or was unwilling to still reach out and do some things beyond his comfort zone. For the most part I admire his ability to be content.

The sex thing is not an issue for us but I think I would consider this a very personal issue and help him if anything happened like that because I love him. I know he would be pretty upset by anything like that.

Take care,

Eve x

I can't speak for all men older than the girls they date or that date them but my ex is 34 and I'm 23. Nobody and I mean nobody even comes close to him when it comes to being intimate. He is 11 years older and and I swear that God spent more time on him when he was being made... He is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! The thing the other guy said about making a girl shake when she's "there" hits the nail on the head...I have'nt ever gotten that from someone else (well by myself if I'm thinking of him lol)

As a comparision my current BF is 27 and in every way shape and form does'nt hold a candle to my ex. My God I wished I had been a little more grown up when I met him!!!!

Ryan wherever you are out there-I love you
