hrtbroken99 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 here's the deal...a guy I was casually dating (we haven't had sex and were dating for about a month) went abroad for work purposes and recently returned after 9 months. He contacted me the day he was flying back in and asked to hang out. Long story short, hung out with him for dinner this weekend and it was good. He texted me goodnight that same night and asked to hang out again this week. My question... during dinner he told me that for work purposes he was going to stay around for at least a year but wasn't sure what would happen after that. I like this guy but do not want to get invested in someone who might leave. I am not sure what to do. Any advice woud be appreciated. Thanks.
ire.girl Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Is it a romantic relationship or is it a friendship? If it is a romantic relationship and you are really into him then just flat out ask him... "so if this leads to really good things are we just gonna go our seperate ways after a year?" It is a long time to invest in someone you arent sure will be 'available' after a year but it would also be a great investment of time should it work out for you both!! Be honest- I think!! Good Luck
PegNosePete Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 do not want to get invested in someone who might leave. Anyone might leave after a year. You can't live your life fearing what might or might not happen. Besides he didn't say he was going to leave, he said he wasn't sure what would happen after that.
