HeartOnSleeve Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 So this would be more directed at men, but to me when I have introduce a man to my parents, it's kind of a big deal. Is it the same for men? or is it more "casual"? Always been curious about this topic.
Star Gazer Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 There is no general rule that applies here, either to men or women. Every parent-child relationship is unique. For some, it's casual and no big deal. For others, it's an important relationship "step." And for even more others, it's somewhere in between.

thatdog Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 It's always going to be some kind of important step in the relationship (pretty sure everyone see's this as a sign that things are getting more serious) but how big a deal it is depends entirely on the family. Most girls i've dated have met my parents withing 2-3 months and some even sooner. This is because I have a pretty close but relaxed relationship with my parents. Most of those girls haven't intorduced me to their family until a fair while later because their family dynamic is different. The problem is those girls also got kinda freaked out when I introduced them to my parents as they saw it as a bigger deal than I did.
zakfar Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 As Star Gazer said, it depends on case to case. However, introducing to parents is indeed the 'Second Step' of a relationship. It's a different thing how much is it important for someone, depending on the relationship between children to their parents.
