People always ask me when I'm going to get a married. They either ask like as if it's something that I can just will at any moment, like getting a haircut or something. Or they ask like as if it's something that I may have forgotten to do, like forgetting to bring my toothbrush.

I always respond with the obvious answer: "When I find someone to marry."

That's when the compliments start pouring in. That's my favorite part! :)

Hopefully that's the case. But it could also be that you're just not old enough to have run into it yet. Check back with me if you're still single on the dark side of 30 and all your female friends are married. ;) Just yesterday a female friend (she's 32) was complaining about getting together with some college friends and them spending the whole night "attacking" (her word) her for not being married.

I've always assumed that. But judging from the ever-increasing divorce rate in my social circles, I'm not so sure anymore. It's sad.

Could be different circles too. Plenty of women in my social circle are early 30s and single (Plenty are also early 30s and married). But we're an educated, adventurous, eccentric, eclectic group. I'm sure it still is as you say among plenty of groups; if I went to church, I'd likely find peers like that, for instance.

Ummmm, no. The women I'm talking about are lawyers, doctors, MBAs, MFAs, PhDs.

And you're not gonna find me anywhere near a church!!! :lmao:

Hmm. . . don't know then. But a lot of my friends are definitely in their 30s, and this is not the pervasive attitude I see.
