TheForgotten Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My ex gf is in love with a person she hasn't even met. Is it possible? Or is it just lust?
greeneyednora Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 i guessing its a celebrity? it takes a while to love someone. most girls are overdramatic and theyll say things like oh my god i love jacob black!! lol its all lust
Author TheForgotten Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 they act like they have known eachother forever and they actually met and stuff, i mean they talk about having sex and everything i mean cmon thats not true love.
BeginAgain Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My ex gf is in love with a person she hasn't even met. Is it possible? Or is it just lust? Plenty of people love Jesus but never met him.
hoping2heal Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My ex gf is in love with a person she hasn't even met. Is it possible? Or is it just lust? I dont know, I guess only your ex would know that. One of my good friends has been happily married for a few years now to someone she told me she was in love with before she met, and yes they talked about sex and alla that too. Everyone thought it was a fluke, including me but no we were all wrong.
Pyro Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 It's a rare occurence but I believe that it is possible. Myself and a certain someone definitely fell for each other before we met in person for the first time.
LittleTiger Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 My SO and I fell for each other before we met - the feelings were all there IRL life too and still are - so yes, I believe, it's possible. I don't think you can call it lust though. Lust is usually created by compatible pheromones which don't transmit except IRL. Infatuation is what people feel for film stars they've never met so that's another option.
folieadeux Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Why does it even matter? She's your ex and what she chooses to do with her life now should have little relevance to you.
dreamingoftigers Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 We each have little triggers in us that release love hormones when we receive that particular stimulus. It's possible that your girl has met someone who triggers a few of them and has mentally filled-in-the-blanks. I did this with my first serious bf. In person he was different than I expected. We still went out for two more years but I can't say that I "fell in love" with an accurate picture of him. People get hooked on the fantasy.
LittleTiger Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Why does it even matter? She's your ex and what she chooses to do with her life now should have little relevance to you. Sometimes people want their ex back, in which case what they do is still relevant.
HeavenOrHell Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I had strong feelings for my partner before meeting IRL, but we didn't know for sure if those feelings and chemistry would be there IRL, or whether it was a fantasy. IMO no-one can know that for sure until they meet. Some couples will hit it off IRL and others won't!
creighton0123 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 they act like they have known eachother forever and they actually met and stuff, i mean they talk about having sex and everything i mean cmon thats not true love. I find it odd that this is even a topic that you're concerned with. Who are you to make the claim about her feelings and emotions re: this other person?
Author TheForgotten Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Is it possible or no? I want her back, but it confuses me that she is in "love" with a guy across the country she has never met.
hoping2heal Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Is it possible or no? I want her back, but it confuses me that she is in "love" with a guy across the country she has never met. Yes it is possible
harhar18 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 My ex gf is in love with a person she hasn't even met. Is it possible? Or is it just lust? She's way over her head!Never fall in love w/ a stranger!Everybody knows that! She need to see a therapist!its okay to make fun out of it if shes doing online dating, but before falling they shud see each other first and do a couple of dates.on the contrary you can do online dating as well, try to check this website thesingleslife.com,free online dating etc. i heard good stuff about it
EyesWideOpen Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I'm assuming this is someone she has contact with? IM. Phone. Etc, right? If so, then I would argue that yes - it is possible to fall in love with someone without a face to face. You can still be attracted to someone's personality, sense of humor, intelligence, ideals, blah blah blah...which all translate over phone and print quite easily.
aerogurl87 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 It's possible, I've fell in love with two people before meeting them in person. And I just recently moved over 2,000 miles from my hometown to be with one of them.
