green_tea Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I am registered to both sites, and use POF way more frequently. I get about 40-50 messages a day on POF and respond to maybe 1-2. On Okcupid, I get maybe 3 messages a day, and almost never respond... I just check e-mails there out of habit. I have gone on quite a few dates from POF, most of them being very successful and leading onto something more. I think all-in-all, POF is more widely used and taken way more seriously. I have also found online profiles of people I know! I just created a POF profile, and got 10 messages in about a 1/2 hour, and this is on a Saturday night! I hardly get any messages on OKCupid. Though I'd have to say I've had more meaningful communication with the OKC guys. Even though I don't get that many messages on OK, I still don't reply to every message, as it's all getting a bit depressing now, so it's easier to just ignore.

On the sight it will tell you how often they reply and it seems like most girls don't reply, attractive or not. I messaged many women and no luck at all. I went to plentyoffish and got responses from cute girls. I don't whats up with the girls on that site. POF is racist. They don't let certain people from a lot of countries sign up. Only the big 5 countries e.g US, UK, AU, NZ, etc.

Only the big 5 countries e.g US, UK, AU, NZ, etc. Those are the big English speaking nations and they are an English site afaik. They are also a free site but bandwidth and web space are not free. They can get a bit pricey.
EmperorR Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 (edited) it comes down to it Online dating sucks for men, when the ratio is like 4 males to 1 female or whatever, even the uglies get a sense of entitlement. why I gave up on online dating, I'd rather just leave my house I'd have better luck at the park across the street from my house. A guy has to write a amazing profile and have great pics and a greater opening msg, while a chick just has to throw up 2 pictures and ................. .................. in hher about me and the msgs come flowing in.
