jean-luc sisko Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Does being classically attractive help in dating terms? As only a few people of either gender are classically attractive (or meet the archetype) then is it true that it's not an absolute?
Irishlove Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I don't understand what you mean. The way we dress and handle ourselves get us what we are looking for in the way of the men we attract? No. I do carry myself as a woman who dresses nice but does not have it all hanging out. Some people just have a look. Usually the quiet ones that don't stare at the girls asses as they walk by. They have a cocktail or two. They are handled well. These are the ones I would go for. I don't want a fool.
DreamerGirl27 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I think she means, is there a certain type of person who is classically attractive, meaning, the majority of people find them attractive. I would be considered classically attractive. I'm joking. slightly...
Author jean-luc sisko Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) OK, I should clarify. Classically attractive as in what is commonly or traditionally deemed attractive. So for a man - http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ffYJ_AT77zg/TPF7ksfAFtI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/bcvGgHt82HI/s400/jonkortajarena4.jpg For a woman - http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_I3es6aCQ2rM/SQqrofVkiWI/AAAAAAAAAgk/mrQrQ2K5y0Q/s400/nicole.jpg If these are the archetypes, then how often to people go for these types? Does it matter, since most people don't meet these archetypes? Edited April 8, 2011 by jean-luc sisko
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I don't know the answer to this question.
DreamerGirl27 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 OK, I should clarify. That's not what's classically attractive to me, so I guess the answer to your question is, no...everyone has their own tastes.
lemonlegs Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I've been told that I'm "classically beautiful" (sorry I don't mean to sound conceited) and I've always taken that to mean that I look like more 'classicly' appealing than what a lot of men would consider to be 'hot' today (blonde hair, fake t i ts, tanned skin, 100 pounds). I have extremely light skin. Not sickly pale, but a very nice ivory, I get many compliments on my skin, and I have dark hair which contrasts with it. I have a nice face too, I suppose lol. Basically, I would say that most people would find me at least somewhat pretty (again, I don't mean to be conceited) but not in typical celebrity 'hot' sense. I would post a pic, but I don't really feel comfortable doing that... haaha
DreamerGirl27 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Classically attractive to me are girls like Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Selena Gomez, Emma Watson. Girls that look like they're 12. Same for guys. I like really youthful looking people. Probably because I'm 26 and look like I'm 12.
