OP, I think you're right to be concerned. I have made friends on there but it's not why I went on there and it's not my primary purpose. The way it usually happens is we go on a first date and if neither one of us is feeling "it" but we get along well anyway then maybe we'll do friend stuff and I have a penpal 800 miles away. I don't do that too much though b/c I don't have a lot of time to be writing people or going out with men I'm not romantically interested in--I'll do meetups to meet people.
